Call me old fashioned, but I really really don't get the hype over Gunther.

    Bores the arse off me.

Honestly, who finds a wrestler that just constantly does chops interesting?

Saw some comparisons between him and the likes of Bret Hart, LOL

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,220 ✭✭✭ThePott

Yeah hoping he'll break away from LWO sooner rather than later and he can move on to something more substantial. Can excuse it here to get him on the Mania card but this angle is overstuffed already. LWO and Legado should be over now too, it's enough already.

Him and Gunther would slap for sure.

Just me or does Sami take those power bombs with too much of his head first? They're rough looking.

Wow didn't expect that but what a mania moment

Also what a title reign by Gunther

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,220 ✭✭✭ThePott

Well still would have preferred Gable but still a good match and a legendary reign by Gunther. Sami has been a great worker for WWE the last few years so think this is his pat on the back.

Hope Gunther moves on to the world title next. Bash in Berlin?

Also this definitely makes me think Kevin Owens is winning tomorrow.

Wow, yeah, didn't expect that before the night! Good for Sami… has deserved a singles title after the brilliant work he did in the build up to WM last year - though I can't help but feel like, within the story, it's the wrong finish. It just didn't feel right, like, they kinda rushed into the emotion of the story quite quickly over the past couple weeks. Had Gable done it, it would've felt more 'earned'.

Zero interest in that win, they really fucked gable over, he deserved better ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,384 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

    Sami **** won. Absolutely nuts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,807 ✭✭✭Sirsok

Anyone's else Network just randomly switch off for the finish!

Kinda funny to have a trailer for Civil War, followed by a red-white-and-blue draped ultra-nationalistic "Wheatley AMERICAN Vodka" commerial…

Gunther is the logical next challenger for the World Title anyways so it had to happen at some point. If it was Sami's first singles title like it would have been Gables I feel it would mean more but I mean, he's already held the belt twice so it doesn't have the same 'oomph' about it.

    Still a great moment nonetheless

Gunther V Drew at Summerslam would be great - and with Bash in Berlin, and Clash at the Castle coming not long after, and only a few days apart, there's scope for some sort of 'series' angle like AEW did with the trios belts last year.

    <Edit>

CatC dates wrong - but still, could see a couple of matches between them, maybe facing each other at Summerslam, with a rematch in Berlin. Maybe Drew wins the first, and Gunther wins the second in Germany. Gives Drew a decent 5 month run, assuming he wins tomorrow.

Rock better come out with that weird ego belt he gave himself last night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,154 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Yeah - realised when I searched the date it actually showed me the 2022 date - my mistake! Instead probably just face each other at SS, and then rematch a few weeks later in Berlin.

So WWE will send everyone home happy with Sami winning, but there has to be heat going into tomorrow's main event... so surely Rock/Reigns going over or some screw job.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,154 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Yeah, has to be a Roman Rock win tonight to give us Bloodline Rules tomorrow. You can't hang the drama of that stipulation over it, and then not pay it off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,384 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

No. the network glitched during the USO match which I hope is a widespread issue, and WWE fix it on demand.

    That's a hell of a coat/wedding dress 😅

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,894 ✭✭✭hynesie08

Even the network didn't want to watch that match......

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,303 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

I'd be absolutely stunned if there was any other outcome. It takes away a lot of jeopardy from the match but at the same time I'm intrigued about how the Rock will fare in this. Probably well protected by frequent tags and Roman doing the donkey work. Hopefully it's fairly physical anyways.

Id be hoping there'd be some kind of way to have Dustin Rhodes at Mania Tomo night for the family moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Will be ultimate heat for the Bloodline if Cody's mom is physically involved

    That entrance was class tbf

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,220 ✭✭✭ThePott

That was an all-timer of an entrance.

Gotta assume Rock knew the heat giving himself a belt would have. Say what you want about the Rock and his heel turn but so far he's definitely… known his role 😎

    I'm sorry

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,384 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

that belt rock got last night was such an odd thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,372 ✭✭✭Cotts72

The lighting for the participants in the ring being called out is very old school WWF era ...class touch to give that main event feel

    Rocky still in great shape

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,372 ✭✭✭Cotts72

Seth and Cody look like a jobber tag team put together in comparison to the size of team bloodline 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Roman wrestling 2 nights in a row

He's dreaming of the beach holiday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,208 ✭✭✭✭B.A._Baracus

Well that was a nice blown spot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Why are the crowd so dead?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,220 ✭✭✭ThePott

This match desperately needs something. Right now it feels like everyone is going half speed and they're having to guide the Rock through it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,154 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

That was great from Board Member Rock - "you count it, you're fired".

Yeah very flat. Could be the cold

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

    be warm to us haha

That one leg rope jump by Rhodes can sometimes look like it could go very wrong

Has the Rock taken a bump yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,220 ✭✭✭ThePott

Think he took one from a double clothesline, not sure he's bumped aside from that.

EDIT - He must have heard you 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Drew must be a happy man

    Going in fresh tomorrow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,784 ✭✭✭SureYWouldntYa

I always think the stadium shows with no roof makes it feel like a crowd is dead since the sound will go off into the sky, whereas in an arena with a roof closed the noise has nowhere to go which makes it seem louder

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,154 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

    Surely a Solo appearance soon

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,303 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Bastards had me with the double pedigree spot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Anyone think it should of been Solo and The Rock instead thus keeping Roman away from Cody till tomorrow night

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,311 ✭✭✭AidoEirE

Rollins did a houdini for ages

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,154 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Started slow but really picked up as it got going - good fun. Was actually a lot less skrew-y than I expected. Was basically just 'anything goes', but no outside interference was surprising.
