Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nunez was immense for a spell there after Xmas but we really looked like his confidence was sky high like the goal vs palace but these misses are just shocking.

The wastefulness vs united was terrible but that chance again he must score. That goes in and we are have a great hold of game and feel like take control , Instead now again it’s still cagey game and wasteful in good positions.

    So unlucky, Harvey.

That would have been a class goal picking the corner of the goal from there.

How did that not go in? Hit the bar then post and out.

    These lads love a foul

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,625 ✭✭✭Damien360

On Nunez, I'm in the same boat. I would have defended him all through the season that his time was coming. But we are here now, he's not good enough and I wouldn't miss him if he was sold on.

Wont start a row about it but I think immense is a slight exaggeration.

Gakpo must have eaten his Weetabix this morning.

Elliot getting lots of space to run into.......just need that one accurate pass

Atalanta are really well drilled for far. They’ll be hard to break down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,073 ✭✭✭SuperTortoise

Jesus i've just seen our bench, it's stacked!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,431 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

With Nunez you you can see he puts himself in great positions regularly and that he's a complete nuisance to play against. He offers a lot to the team.

Like he has 31 goal contributions in 45 games this season which is actually decent but it's the misses everyone focuses on which is understandable. But if he scored 50% of those big chances he's missed he'd be flying past Salah as our main threat.

Are we just expecting him to be as good as Salah or what is he being benchmarked against? He doesn't play the same role as Halaand or Watkins in that he's not tasked with staying around the box, he's not like normal wide men either but rather a mixture of a load of different players.

Bit of a lethargic performance so far.

    Standard

Poor all over, including the keeping

    Dived over the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,130 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Feck, Kelleher was really let down by the defending in front of him, but has to do better there himself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,411 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Think that’s Kelleher’s first mistake since Allison’s injury. Should save that. Wasn’t even a good strike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,521 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Terrible keeping but there's been someone free for those low crosses at least twice now.

This tie is likely to go the distance now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,829 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Jones in a daze out there

    Struggling

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,411 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

So much for putting the tie to bed tonight. We’ve been so flat. No urgency.

Atalanta are exploiting the space in our midfield really well. Think Jones might be taken off at HT for Salah and put Elliot back in there or straight swap for Szoboszlai.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,188 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

A lot of tired looking heads out there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,521 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Himself and Tsimikas look to be gassed.

Maybe understandable but can't see them lasting much longer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,313 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Passes are so slow and short at times

    ******

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,097 ✭✭✭hawaii501

Atalanta seem to be crossing it along the ground to a player in the box everytime.

    Where is the marking.

Also shocking all round for the goal but Kelleher is to blame in the end, it crawled into him.

Great save to redeem himself there though.

Cant pass the ball at all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 391 ✭✭bdmc16

Had the same feeling with this game as united game last week. Would be harder game than it should be on paper . Risky starting 11 this deep in the competition . same pattern of wasteful sloppy passing at important times again tonight.

We shouldn’t be struggling in this game but reserve players beginning to make costly errors after been so good for a long time. Quansah last game and Kelleher tonight but again Nunez puts that 1 on and 1 away and it’s a different game. Unbelievably frustrating poor play again , slow pace and our left is wide open

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,625 ✭✭✭Damien360

Ah lads the defending is shocking. They should have scored that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Ikozma

Jesus this first half is as bad as I've seen in a fair while, shocking stuff altogether

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,411 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

We’ve got worse since the goal. Giving away chances for fun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,901 ✭✭✭✭klose

Be surprised if there’s not at least a couple subs here at HT

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,829 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    Kelleher makes up for it.

Had it up to here with Konate's passing tonight, not to mention Tsimikas

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,072 ✭✭✭jones

This is terrible so far. What has happened this team in the last while

Whats going on. Need to pick up the pace and get our act in gear. Way too relaxed. Smells like the United game

LIstening on the radio but liverpool sound all over the place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,411 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Might be the worst half of the season that. Could easily be 2 or 3 down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,130 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Maybe a few starts coming a bit soon for a few lads who might've needed a couple more 20-minute appearances first. Can understand taking the risk though.

Kostas is absolutely useless tonight - I would question Klopp if he starts he second half.

Putrid all over the pitch. Shocking altogether.

    Deservedly behind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,073 ✭✭✭SuperTortoise

Hard to pick out someone that played well that half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,188 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Hitting a bad run of form at the worst time of the season.

A Klopp masterpiece needed at HT.

Reminds me of the F1 race where Nigel Mansell simply ran out of petrol in the final straight. This team looks totally gassed, similar to the "quad-season" a couple of years ago, but it's happened a bit sooner. If Nunez could finish his dinner it would be a help, though...
