Tell that to the kids today......🙂

Proper order. The crust is on every slice. The heel is at the ends of the pan.

There is crust on every slice but this slice is all crust

If your slice is all crust, what you've got there is just a very small loaf

The heel. Unless it's the end of a batch type loaf, then it's the batch heel, unless it's a heel heel (heels are meh but batch heels are magic)

The crust. Great for the base of a fried egg sandwich as the oil doesn't seep through as quickly.

The heel for the ends when it was a pan or loaf shape. The crust if it was a vienna roll or a cob.

We sometimes had turnovers but I don't remember a name for the end slices on those.

    Heel.

And there's no cutting off the second heel on an unsliced pan! You have to wait!

    Every slice has a crust!

    Crust.

    Always heel.

And to confuse matters even more, do you say the sliced pan, or the sliced loaf? Our family here always said sliced pan, my UK family says sliced loaf.
