No Cinema near me anymore. There used to be up to the early 90s.

Having to spend a good hour plus in the motor taxation office filling in multiple forms to tax your own car as if you were applying for financing for a large cruise ship.

I blame the PC.

Before the PC there was the SR-71, The VC10 still holds the record for fastest subsonic trans-atlantic flight - 'hush power' - Concorde; they could build nuclear reactors and achieve zero CO2 with relative ease and cost. Kids could climb trees and run around at school. You could put money in a bank account and they would actually pay you interest and didn't charge you for every thing you wanted to do with your own money. You could ring a company, an actual person would answer the phone and then more often than not, connect you directly to another person who you could talk to.

For me, it would be no more air raid drills in primary school. I entered primary school in northern Germany in the mid 1980s, and we still had that.

People buying brand new cars in October and sticking a "For Reg" cardboard sign as the front and back number plate until they got the car registered in January the following year to save a few quid, a blind eye was shown for years.

And the stench of the place, I still remember it to this day, like rotten piss mixed with stale tobacco in circa 30 degree dead heat.
