Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

  • Fair play to Coventry for the comeback. God we are so fragile.

I'd love to know where awb is supposed to put his arm.

Well done Coventry. 3-0 down and didn't drop the heads. It was Man United hanging on at the end.

You do wonder if fitness will play a part in extra-time, Premiership team Vs Championship team.

What's funniest of all is that no Utd fans are surprised by this, its a team full of cowards.

Well almost as funny as the Liverpool fan talking to himself in here while his team are playing a vital PL game

It was a pure Sunday league refereeing decision when they just want to give it to make it an epic game.

Next Man City manager: You lot may all be internationals and have won all the domestic honours there are to win under Pep. But as far as I'm concerned, the first thing you can do for me is to chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest **** dustbin you can find, because you've never won any of them fairly. You've done it all by bloody cheating.

Great run by Wright, unfortunately there was no end product and he ran it over the end line.

Can see Coventry going back into their shell again to their detriment

Great counterattack by Coventry. Wright with the finish dragged just wide.

Oh wow! Wow! Wow! The history books were beckoning for Coventry. Off the underside of the crossbar. So, so close.

It must be offside. And is. They were so close.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,937 ✭✭✭omega man

hard for Coventry to focus now surely after that disallowed winner

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Coventry have done themselves proud regardless of what happens in the shootout. They could have won it with a couple of late chances alone, off the crossbar and offside by an inch or two from going to Wembley for the final.

United have advantage playing towards the end with their fans and going first.

Then the Coventry keeper goes and saves Casemiro's penalty.

Man United players mouthing off. Fernandes first, now Onana, gets booked. But it's worked, Shief blazes over the bar.

Lol Hojland celebrating likes he's won the champions league. At least the rest of united players knew they should be too embarrassed/ashamed to celebrate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Heartbreaking for Coventry. Terrific performance regardless, and could have won it with a little bit of luck.

Man United, eh, well… they got through? That's probably the best thing you can say about them.

What's embarrassing is the obsession even when one's own team is playing.

    Hated, adored, but never ignored.

How can yous be ignored? 3-0 up and cruising and then yous nearly pull off the greatest bottling of all time in the FA Cup. Quality entertainment.

QQ . Has the offside rule changed in the last year or so? I remember Bamford having a goal scratched off against Liverpool as his arm was office. Today the lines were drawn at the boots, despite the United defender's arm being closer to the goal. Always thought only "scoring" body parts should count, and maybe it has been fixed.

On another topic, dunno how this affects Coventry in the play-offs. Will the fans fancy another trip to Wembley?

  • It's whatever part they can score a goal from. Going 3D or something from next season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    Fair play to Maguire.

Hojlund's penalty hits the net and he doesn't celebrate, heading straight to the Coventry players. Antony runs off like an eejit, cupping his ears towards them.

Luckily, many Utd players took Maguire's lead and went to the Coventry players to shake hands pretty much immediately.

Classy from Harry, to be fair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,114 ✭✭✭El Gato De Negocios

For all the crap that's been written about him, he has never been anything but a model pro at United. He's obviously a limited baller but he's never publicly bitched about his limited onfield time, he's never flounced around or given up when he has played and things aren't going well. Some of his peers could do with following his example.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

I thought it was offside on first viewing and I don't know whether it was or not. But there's been a tonne of comments online that Coventry were robbed by VAR of that winning goal because of incorrect drawn lines.

Coventry are too far behind to make the play-offs this year imo. They would need to win all 4 of their remaining games and for West Brom or Norwich to only get a point from their last 2 games.
