A4s and A3 generally won't work hard enough in a big group to stay away

  • Registered Users Posts: 270 ✭✭this.lad

Sure they won't work to get away in an A4 only race. All in in the bunch sprint...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,914 ✭✭✭wav1

3 weeks away yet but just a reminder we have another promotion coming up. Sean Lynch Memorial Sat 11th May

Third year of the race which takes place at Skryne GFC Co Meath

3 x separate races tines TBC

just a reminder that my own club is hosting racing this weekend and for once the weather looks like it’s going to play ball.

for those that don’t know the course(s) they are 2 relatively flat circuits and we generally get a good turnout

Saturday is a Handicap over 60km starting at 2pm

Sunday is segregated racing starting at 12

  • Registered Users Posts: 270 ✭✭this.lad

Hoping to race Sunday but have an u12 and an u14 off at the same time so depending on mammy availability!

Do the u12s finish in the same spot as everyone else or relatively close by?

I’ll confirm for you but I think all races finish / start at the same spot on both days.

As in a separate start/finsh for Saturday and Sunday

Looking forward to Bohermeen this weekend. Had a shite day at kilinchy last weekend

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,469 ✭✭✭beggars_bush

    Lumpy course in killinchy alright

    Might head north again

Has the Kanturk 3 Day been pulled?

  • Moderators, Politics Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 24,269 Mod ✭✭✭✭Chips Lovell

Oh. It's disappeared from the calendar. The Youth event too. I was just about to book accomodation for our team.

Just saw that re kanturk, if its pulled it's a funny way to go about it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,727 ✭✭✭✭dahat

Standard, Challenge CC did the same with no offer of refunds.

Edit on this - Kanturk have been clear on FB with no entries taken.

Challenge CC however remain guilty as charged.

They have a post on their FB page now, I presume refunds will come around. Unfortunately with Eventmaster, refunds are not as easy as they should be if the money has already been sent to the club.

  • Moderators, Politics Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 24,269 Mod ✭✭✭✭Chips Lovell

I don't think entries were open yet. At least they weren't last time I checked.

  • Registered Users Posts: 685 ✭✭✭Reality_Check1

ah that’s really disappointing I had kanturk earmarked for the long weekend. Now only 1 single day race listed in the country for the entire weekend up in Down?

mandatory grumble about the scheduling 🙄

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,622 ✭✭✭ericzeking

Is there a reason suggested for no Kanturk? It's very sad, if it's lost permanently. I imagine it was a season highlight for most

racers not of the top rank in and around Munster. A brilliant weekend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,469 ✭✭✭beggars_bush

Tour of Ulster gone and now Kanturk

    Stage racing becoming scarce

That weekend could do with an open race down south
