    My FPL season is as good as over, last 2 GWs were killers so back out to 450k. Interest is gone. Was in contention for minor places in ML's but not anymore.

    BB active so said I'd have some fun and take on a few players, well more than a few who are xMins risk!! 4 transfers, -12. This could be awful or unreal.

    Looking at the Gvardiol goal again and the Fulham defender Diop must have him captained because it’s been a long time since I seen such a poor effort to defend.

    OT but up in Scotland John Lundstrum (a one-season star of this game) has conceded 2 including an own goal and also been red-carded. So is still liable for any further goals conceded.

    Which has me wondering what the most negative score has been in the game over the years. Any player ever got the trio of missed penalty, own goal and red-card?

    While this penalty to Celtic looks fortunate, At least they using VAR correctly…

    Leave the Ref come and check himself again, and let him make the final decision, even if its still debatable..

    I see its missed anyway…

    Wilson not even in Newcastle squad FFS, small injury. Tripper on bench. Epic fail with the -12 gamble! Ah well. Was always a punt into the dark. But Howe not saying anything about Wilson is annoying.

    I went for Dias over Gvardiol on WC in 35. Thought I was playing the safe option.

    About 4 minutes before todays deadline I eventually conceded I needed to -4 Gvardiol in for Dias. I can hardly find a team without Gvardiol in any leagues that remotely matters.

    Alvarez 15mins and an Assit and a goal….. (Points only for goal of course) in the last seconds

    But good for me this time

    17pts from my 3 city players to start the week. No Gvardiol but could be worse

    The Gvardiol case study is a microcosm of how the game is a bit of skill, sprinkled with a healthy dollop of luck, and why you can't take the game too seriously.

    Gvardiol was a solid pick 4 GWs ago. But Walker and Dias were perfectly safe too. But what has happened since is variance that you simply can't legislate for. It's 40 points or more. Attacking returns. Not being rotated at all, while the rest have (even Walker today).

    And all you can do is embrace it. You just have to hope you're on the right side of the variance more often than not.
