how deep are the founds, they look a bit narrow so as said above, tie into existing at every sec course

Are you laying blocks or bricks: 8 blocks is 6 feet 8 bricks is less than half that

Will you be rendering the wall?

Typically you would use a brick between the two blocks to make it up, but if you are not going to render/paint you might not like how this looks.

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but is the issue not the 9cm gap that you are trying to fill?

yes and you have an image in the other thread of this wall with the gap left between the block and the path so close this thread as its wasting peoples time answering
