Georgie is either the killer or the biggest grief pornographer ever. Jumping straight in to carry the coffin? Why did the family even allow him do it. Surely Ray or Doug that knew her could have stepped in.

Kira was at the wake sat next to Georgie

Edit - sorry I see that was posted earlier today, before the ceremony this evening

Why did Babs go to bed knowing Ruby hadn't come home? A couple of weeks ago she was banging Kira's door down looking to know where Ruby was just because she couldn't get through to her at the hotel her and Juliette were supposed to be at. And yet she said she "couldn't sleep a wink" implying that she actually went to bed and tried to sleep while Ruby was basically missing in the midst of the recent murder of a young woman

I have a feeling that Georgie is there half brother and that’s why he moved to carrigstown and is interested in the murder all of a sudden knowing it was his half sister that was killed

It feels to obvious to be Georgie.

However it obvious CIaran was the kidnapper and Kerri-Anne was the killer from what I remember.

We don't know much about Georgie - could he be in some way connected to Mairead's ex-husband Will? Either as a family member or a boyfriend?

That would explain the "an eye for an eye" message, assuming he blamed Mairead for Will's death.

Even before the body was confirmed as Laura, Georgie was too "obsessed" about the murder but I like the idea of another kid of Marty Halpin

  • Registered Users Posts: 448 ✭✭Otis Hill

That's an interesting theory. Georgie mentioned to Ronan that he didn't have any family that cared about him so maybe he is Marty Halpins illegitimate son. It'd be a good twist and go some way towards justifying his level of interest. I know its been pointed out he was overly interested in the murder before it was revealed to be Laura, but in hindsight Carol, Sharon and Cass did nearly as much rubber necking at the site and at least Georgie had the flimsy excuse of being attracted to the Garda to keep going back.

You would think Wayne or Suzanne would have made an appearance at the funeral, Damo's ex wife and Damo's best mate

No Paul, Leo or Orla or Laura's former roommate Hayley

Also surprised no Bosco to nose, or Renee as both work colleagues of Mairead

"An eye for an eye, sorry Laura" is something I could imagine Gwen saying while her head bobs. She could have had a fling with Laura at some point during her travels and killed her when she saw her in Carrigstown as revenge for something Laura did during their travels. Georgie might know and feel guilty.....or he might be a massive red herring and was just morbidly obsessed with murder cases. Gwen could have given him the "condolence" card to leave at the wake, with Georgie knowing it was malicious.

And Babs and Victor were off having drinks and a takeaway not a bother after Ruby told them she had spent the night with some fella she just met. Both of them in great form and all loved up after the pub..it just seemed bizarre.

That Jess one is some tool, you'd think Andy, Sean and Steo would be working in the busy bar holding a wake .

How long ago was damiens dad there, and how old is georgie? He comes across as very immature. Oh so is he old enough to be martys son?

The funeral last night was so far from the reality of an Irish Funeral. At least Eastenders ( which is the only other soap I watch) can stretch to using an actual church for funerals and weddings which makes it more credible. Fair city funerals is always the same - a handful of people show up ( who have very little links with the dead person or their family), no extended family or friends attend and the funeral is held in a tiny room ( not sure if its meant to be a cremetorium or church). Irish funerals are not like that. The funeral afters in the station was also poorly done - could they not have had more people there and food.

Last night having Georgie sitting behind the grieving family was laughable. Having him comforting Mark ( who he has only met) was stupid. I know its part of the plot of Georgie becoming a suspect but it was not at all believable for a funeral.

Im not sure the writers live in the real world at all.

The detective ( in a murder investigation ) bringing along the junior idiot garda as his sidekick is also stretching reality.

the detective being at the funeral was joke stuff too; the way they deliver news and updates to the grieving family in public places makes no sense.

Steo spent so much time following Jess around and looking for access rights and now is being ignorant to Jess and the nipper; change of character.

The funeral was ridiculous. Never seen one like it before. Hopefully now that part is over it’ll be the end of Damien blinking furiously in every scene as he tries to act emotionally. I wonder if they arrest Georgie will he tilt his head to the left then pout and gaze up at the sky. It his go to pose in most scenes.

I can understand a non church funeral but Laura's was like a group in a box room ! Tiny!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,104 ✭✭✭Sparko

I didn't see Hughie, Erica, Ray & Doug, all who were supposed to be there. Unless I missed them.

Georgie is ridiculous, he's practically the chief mourner at this stage. It's a shame they couldn't stretch to giving him a suit to wear at the funeral.

Especially for a murder victim. In truth, it would a national news story and hundreds would attend.

If this was real life Georgie would of course be guilty …. like the guy in England from 20 years ago helping out all he could …. Georgie showed way too much interest …. is helping out way too much …. but I think it is in the writing to keep people off the scent …. it is unrealistic though ….

  • Registered Users Posts: 862 ✭✭✭lumphammer2

Everything in a lot of soaps is oversimplified for the story …. and in FC's case to save costs! …. everything points to Georgia …. and these scenes are to delib make him a suspect …. but he is too obvious … and no no one in the real world would act like him …. he is written to look like suspect but is a red herring …. it is the Garda DI McCabe maybe working through the Senior Detective …. or else it is something to do with Will …..

Thats hilarious😂 Damien and the blinking.. must have learnt that in the Gaiety school of acting along with resting face. I laughed at Marks 'tears'. Looked like he splashed water over his eyes. It was really lame tbf the whole funeral scene.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,983 ✭✭✭littlevillage

Why is Hughie soo concerned about Pete? are they even friends?

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,437 ✭✭✭✭whelan2

Is the detective very small or the guard lad very tall ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,534 ✭✭✭✭Galwayguy35

    Steo is a bellend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,478 ✭✭✭✭freshpopcorn

Decetive Is small. He's the same hight as Mairead or Ronan is massive.

The original boyfriend (name Greg?) seems to have disappeared , in true FC fashion.

Is he still living with Babs and co I wonder?
