That won't be repeated in an election where you vote for people, not ill defined concepts.

I'll be slightly surprised if Boylan gets his election expenses (1/4 of a quota at time of elimination) and amazed if he gets elected. His support base is people who use Twitter too much and listen to his radio show; many of whom are unable to vote for him as they're in the other areas 4FM covers (mostly in South, where he would have been better off running if II didn't already have a candidate there).

That said, South is even further from Belfast for him to commute.

There was a late shift from SF to GP, other party figures were within margin of error. There were no Independents or ultra niche parties outperforming.

If an Independent isn't polling well two weeks out, they either need something like Casey's Presidential debate to push them forward, and Boylan isn't going to get on the RTÉ debate.

There's no 'supposedly' about it.

In the last 2 weeks, we've seen 3 Italians in their 20's swept away in a flash flood and cars literally piled high in the streets in Spain for the same reason.

The Greens can at least hold their heads high that they tried to fight the good fight, but Europe (and beyond) is in the midst of losing its mind to populism without realism and so, here we are.
