The filthiest regime on the planet imo supported by the Biden Whitehouse with weapons and equipment to enable this genocide.

So now racism has meaning again?

That like anti semitism was a phrase that had "lost all meaning" when it suited.

Such an appalling attack. Was it in retaliation for the rockets aimed at Tel Aviv?

Deliberately murdering women and children in the most painful way imaginable as a response to Hamas causing inconvenience to Israel. That's about what we've come to expect

ICJ say Israel must stop the offensive immediately. They don't, so what now?

so much disturbing pieces of information in this article, and almost identical to how the Israeli government run their military.

    • revenge is justified no matter how many multiples of casulties
    • Innocent victims don’t count
    • Revenge must be in the form of multiples of deaths and property destruction
    • Our revenge / ancient Jewish doctrine overrules all laws and moral standards
    • we can be selective about adherence of our own sabbath if we have a better chance of killing the enemy
    • We will be protected by the Israeli justice system
    • Bully all Jews to obey the movement

Aid groups react to strike of Rafah

Aid groups say they are “horrified” by an Israeli strike on tents housing displaced people in the southern city of Rafah that has left at least 35 people dead.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said dozens of dead and injured people were brought to a trauma stabilisation supported by the group.

The aid group said in a post on X:

We are horrified by this deadly event which shows once again that nowhere is safe.

Israel orders Spain to stop consular services for Palestinians from 1 June

Israel’s foreign ministry said it had told the Spanish consulate in Jerusalem to stop offering consular services to Palestinians from 1 June over Madrid’s recognition of a Palestinian state.

The ministry said that Spain’s consulate in Jerusalem is “authorised to provide consular services to residents of the consular district of Jerusalem only, and is not authorised to provide services or perform consular activity vis-a-vis residents of the Palestinian Authority”.

Israel’s foreign minister, Israel Katz, said in a separate statement that “today, I implemented preliminary punitive measures against the Spanish consulate in Jerusalem following the Spanish government’s recognition of a Palestinian state”.

“We will not put up with harming Israel’s sovereignty and security.”

“The prosecutor of the court has been strongly intimidated and accused of antisemitism, as always, that everyone does something that the Netanyahu government doesn’t like,” Borrell said.

“I think that the accusation of antisemitism against the prosecutor of the international criminal court is completely not acceptable.”

We are outraged and heartbroken by the recent attacks in West Rafah, where Israeli fighter jets launched eight missiles at makeshift shelters housing internally displaced persons (IDPs) next to Unrwa warehouses stocking vital aid.

These shelters were supposed to be safe havens for innocent civilians, yet they became targets of brutal violence. Children, women, and men are being burned alive under their tents and shelters.

Israeli airstrikes that killed 44 Palestinian civilians evidence of war crime - Amnesty International

The international criminal court should investigate as war crimes three Israeli airstrikes that killed 44 Palestinian civilians, including 32 children, in the Gaza Strip last month, Amnesty International has said.

“The cases documented here illustrate a clear pattern of attacks over the past seven months in which the Israeli military has flouted international law, killing Palestinian civilians with total impunity and displaying a callous disregard for human lives.”

That's just a glance at what's happening today.

I wonder if anyone here thought they'd ever go against Amnesty International, Doctors without Borders, the ICC, and the ICJ in the space of a week, while supporting a country that threatens severe consequences against Ireland.

It's a fast and steady descent into depravity and an inhuman lack of empathy.

I didn't know Hamas were so powerful that they controlled every single humanitarian relief organisation in the world

wait till you find out about all the sickos Hamas have in Hollywood and politics. their rotten tentacles everywhere

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,874 ✭✭✭fly_agaric

I'd imagine so (seems like it anyway, with the timing), I don't think Hamas had managed to launch any rockets for a while. It is embarrassing for Netanyahu.

So the mighty IDF has to be sent into action to hit back against the Hamas, and burn a few refugees in their tents (oh well, they were probably all "Hamas" anyway).

It is all so very like that other war that seems a bit off the headlines, where you have another fragile warlord "leader" who lashes out murderously when things don't go to plan and he feels personally slighted.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,492 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

Surely sending support and troops in to defend Hamas and teach the Israeli's a lesson?

People love comparing Israel to Nazi's and we know what was needed to defeat the Nazi's so same again?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,081 ✭✭✭Sudden Valley

I think they would more be sent in to protect civilians in Gaza to teach Israel a lesson

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,389 ✭✭✭✭Akrasia

    Dont be ridiculous

The last thing the Palestinians need, or anyone else for that matter, is an escalation in violence.

An immediate halt to the Israeli bombardments, an immediate withdrawal of all forces from Gaza and the opening of all borders to all humanitarian aid to provide the crucial medical, shelter and food supplies to the refugees are what is required.

The consequences for the IDF military and political leadership should be severe, but conducted within the legal and political arena, not more sensless murder

Remarks like this just give easy ammunition to bad faith posters who wish to scream "Antisemitism!" in order to deflect from the IDF's genocidal war crimes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,736 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

Yes. You're right it has, because to many it now means violence and prejudice against Jews only. You obviously are highlighting this due to recent violence by Jewish settlers against Arabs in the West Bank to remind people it refers to Arabs too and that anyone who seeks to excuse or minimise it is likely anti semitic. Well done on reminding people of this and your recent recognition that Israel lost the run of itself over Ireland recognising the state of Palestine.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,425 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

No, to point out that in fact, there is antisemitism on this thread, on a depressingly regular basis. That particular OP I have on ignore because it spouts antisemitic crap all the time, but thanks for the quote, it's a good reminder of the flotsam and jetsam that show up here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,736 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

i assume you are also referring to posters defending violence and prejudice against Arabs, with posts along the lines that suggest violence is all they know and sure they deserve what they are getting due to being Hamas supporters anyway. If you were even handed you might acknowledge that there are infact anti semitic posts against both Jews and Arabs, but that the majority of posts in this thread are not of that nature. Instead it suits you to highlight it against one side only.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,425 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

No, I follow the conventional IHRA definition of antisemitism. And, criticizing the actions of the Israeli government is not antisemitism. Nor is criticizing the actions of any Muslim government including Hamas, Egypt, Iran, …

And we've seen lots of examples of antisemitism on this thread - dual-citizenship congressmen in the US/pentagrams/…

Is that what was done with the genocidal Nazi's?

Feel free to give us another entity whose reputation is paralleled with the that of the IDF if you wish

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,002 ✭✭✭ToweringPerformance

Imagine been on the side of a country that burns babies alive in their tents whilst they sleep or beheads them with powerful explosions. The Israelis are truly the absolute worst that humanity has to offer to the world. Biden is on that side with his support of these criminals.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,847 ✭✭✭Sweet.Science

So we are now to the point when children are being burnt alive in tents.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭Northernlily

There is no dept to the depravity Israel are willing to go.

It's almost like they are taunting people.

Tbh I've seen calls on social media for them to strike the countries that recognised Palestine last week. I wouldn't put it past them. Pure twisted and evil.

The US have really let themselves down.

What happened to Ireland's call for the EU to review its trade deal with Israel to ensure its upholding its obligations on obeying international law, human rights etc? Surely it's cut and dry at this stage. Has our request even had a formal response?

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,465 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Harris spoke about this only this morning - says he is still pursuing it with the EU.

  • Registered Users Posts: 442 ✭✭Balagan1

Paralled? No! Terrifyingly and incalculably and systematically exceeded in many countries and in many battles and is very well documented. You'll find it easily if you ever wish to come out of your rabbit hole and educate yourself.

Igotadose, what are your thoughts on the ICC, ICJ, and this latest attack? Difficult week or taking it in your stride?
