disability allowance card/free travel pass expiring

    Hi everyone,

    My disability allowance card/free travel pass is expiring next month. Just wondering, do I automatically get a new one posted or do I have to order a new one?

    Pop into your local intreo office and get it renewed

    If it's older than 10 years you'll need to get a new photo. If less, they'll automatically renew it.

    I renewed mine online last month and received my new card in the post last week. Quick and painless to renew online, I had pictures taken last year, so I just uploaded one of them through MyWelfare .ie

    Anyone know if I really need to send back the old card - the letter that came with the new card says I should send the card back to an address in Leitrim.

    Is there really any need? I was just going to dispose of it like I do with an old bank card.

    No need to send back expired card, just destroy it. Unfortunately people need to have a fully verified mygov account to renew a PSC card online. If a person has a valid PSC, they just contact the free Travel section who'll issue an updated PSC With the Free Travel added to it.

    Unfortunately a lot of people have had issues renewing PSC online, issues with photos not being accepted, a known issue, still not resolved.
