Course he drops the hurley when it's been dragged out of his hands!

Clare needed that goal. The sides surprisingly go in level at half-time.

The goal is exactly what Clare ane the game neeeded.

That goal keeps it interesting at least. Clare were not really at the races and needed that badly. Limerick will be kickibg themselves at the break as they rarely cough up soft goals.

    And then...

Clare giving possesion away too easily…

Poor first half. Clare hitting long hopeful balls forward and getting cleaned out. Peter Duggan a liability up to the last puck. Directly responsible for 4 Limerick points from fouls and turnovers.

Can't understand Conlons constant need to go into contact when he receives the ball in space. Could see it costing Clare in the 2nd half.

Huge goal potentially (even if Limerick will more than likely roar out of the traps after the break as usual). Limerick untypically slow to react to the rebound.

Funny enough first half. I thought Limerick's diagonal's weren't working at all initially and Flanagan's absence was being felt. But Gillane and O'Brien got two good points late on and their delivery improved as the half progressed.

Opposite happened to Clare-O'Donnell was doing damage early on but that faded.

Should be a rip-roaring second half.

Poor game of hurling ...all throwing and every player taking 7 or 8 steps.

Great for Clare as it felt like Limerick were getting in control. Now though Limerick have the wind so can Clare stay with them

Conlon looking for contact when there’s clear passes on is a liability.

Scoreline flatters Clare. Hopefully they find a few gears.

I dont think Cian Lynch knows how to handpass legally.

Exactly regarding Conlon, he came out with ball near half time there and it was pointless stuff. Took on one almost lost it, kept going and decided taking on another lad, luckily got a free. Just get rid of it

High tackles, throwing the ball all legal now?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭threeball

Could suit Clare. Lumping ball hasn't worked. Working it through the lines will probably suit them

Conlan is persistently fouling. Tight game so far. Id fancy Limerick to win from here though. Felt Clare needed to carry a cushion into the 2nd half.

That seems to be in the ref log book though - Croker the same yesterday.

I would much prefer for frees to be given but like most games this year, the rule is not being applied outside once or twice a game.

Clare haven't gotten going, but will surely have a purple patch at some stage. Lohan will be tearing strips out of them at half time.

They do have a goal threat, so still a chance in the game….

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,305 ✭✭✭Robson99

I have yet to see him do it. Hannon is the only one of them that actually does it correctly

Steps and handpassing rules non existent in Hurling nowadays.

Next goal will be huge - there will surely be a couple in the second half. Any defender on a yellow could be in trouble if they need to stop someone going through, Limerick number 2 I think could well find themselves under pressure.

Terrible game so far. Munster hurling lol.

O brien with 8 steps for his point. It's more like rugby than hurling

Clare look in big trouble, don't seem to have any energy.

Savage score from the sideline. Limerick are sweeping up a lot of ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,575 ✭✭✭YabaDabaDooley

Felt Limerick would have been annoyed at the ht break. They've come out like men possesed first 5 mins second half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,297 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

The steps rule and throw ball rule might as well not exist.

When will Cleary learn not to be constantly pulling the jersey at this level?
