It is when it's for the highlights

DId I hear right that George Russell is on pole 😮 ?

Very quiet in hear. Must have been a crap quali session.

    Peace and long life.

Nah it was yet another great qualifying session. Probably just quiet because of the time in the evening. First two sessions were quite chaotic with the track ramping up so fast then an extremely tight Q3. Ferrari and Red Bull off the pace, though Max being Max managed to salvage it with a stunner of a lap to put that car on the front row where it had no right to be. Mercedes have the best car around this circuit while the McLaren continues to look like the most consistently strong car over a variety of track layouts. Great showings from RB and Aston in qualy too. Anyone in the top 4 could win tomorrow while it will be interesting to see if Ferrari can do better in race trim and make their way forward.

I love sessions like that, and for Russell and Max to be on the same time is insane. That tow really helped Russell, and the 0.2 cost Hamilton so many places as well.

Some rain for the race would be whopper.

That was a great quali session. Well done to George Russell and Mercedes on that stunning lap.

Can they stay ahead of Max in the Red Bull in the race now? That is the big question.

I will not be home to see it. It will be tomorrow before I see the race but enjoy if you are watching it live. Hope its a good one.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I am very much a fan of Max but I think the Mercedes have the advantage. My money is on Russel finishing first and Max third at best. Let’s see, either way I’m expecting an exciting race as so many teams are so competitive. I’m delighted to see Riccardo doing so well but I doubt he will translate his qualifying result into a meaningful race result.

Wondering what the Ferrari strategy will be. One of them on the podium would be a big win all things considered

I would imagine Russell will be very defensive on the first lap. He seems to be the kind that would prefer to get taken out than to lose the position, then it won't be perceived as being his fault.

Toto was down playing their chances after qualifying, but Russell wasn't I imagine the moaning will be considerable if he doesn't go on to win.

Really looking forward to the race later, after a great qualifying session yesterday.

Hopefully we get some wet to dry or dry to wet racing to spice things up

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

It's fairly cool too so will make it tricky to dry off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,584 ✭✭✭This is it

Hopefully not just lashing for the whole thing or we'll get no actual racing...

    Track in red circle.

It's going to be wet for a while i think right up to lights out

    As

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    Probably a SC start

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

If its a standing start someone at the back should start in pit lane to avoid carnage

I think the two kicks are because they changed rear wings

Just tuned in now, hopefully it’s not a safety car start. Let them race with inters. Lazenby doing his best to defend Danny Ric against Villeneuve. 😁

Even taking a swipe at Jaques himself.

I enjoyed that old lady on the gridwalk (not in a Wayne Rooney way)

    Standing start as it stands.

That interview with the old lady was class, take that over talking to celebs all day long. Sounds like she has had some life, she met the great Jim Clarke I think she said.

A regular start as said on the grid.

As it stands I should say.

Oh, this is very Eurovision for the anthem

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,584 ✭✭✭This is it

Ferrari strategy = get through lap 1 in one piece

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,217 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Ah come on give it a bit of welly with the anthem.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,417 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Looked like Max was trying not to laugh at Super Mario singing the anthem. 😀

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,982 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Ah no, the Eurovision is miles better than this 😂
