Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Big blow to Dutch hopes. Lost both Dejong and Koopmeiners for the tournament. Looking very light in Midfield now.

CB is a position of weakness for England, moving their best to midfield would be crazy.

I think this is a very tricky game for Germany. Scotland didn't do themselves justice in the last Euros, and will come out and go for it. We seen what they're capable of in the group, and they'll play with no fear or pressure. Germany will probably do enough, but they'll have to dodge a few bullets.

Scotland have often played well in qualifying for 20 years, but always felt they got tough groups, and that was the case in the last euros too. Not much luck has gone their way in the recent past if we're being honest, so maybe something will finally happen for them.

You'd think Scotland are a team Irish people could row in behind, but it's not the case. They don't really like us, and we don't particularly like them. Any unionist that would follow them tends not to like us, and any Scottish nationalist tends to look down their nose at Irish nationalists. It's a funny one, you'd think we'd be natural allies, Celtic brothers and that, but it's not the case. Im personally indifferent to them!

Where do you come up with this stuff? There's no hatred between Irish and Scottish fans ffs

Say what you want about the Germans.

They sure know how to put on a good co-ordinated parade.

Tends to be less dislike from the Irish side alright, but they certainly have no love for us.

Sane a big miss for them if he can't play full games. He offers something different from their other attacking options.

You have to love watching Scotland sing Flower of Scotland with such faux pride. Super proud people, until that is putting the union ahead of their own sovereignty.

Scotland, England, Wales and "Northern Ireland" should be banned from these tournaments, they're not sovereign nations, which is their choice. But you shouldn't be able to have it both ways.

1-0 germany after 10 mins. wirtz or an OG

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,648 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

    Awful keeping

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,180 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Germany lead after 10 minutes through Wirtz. Scottish keeper Gunn should have kept that out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

    The German Jamie Vardy scores.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,179 ✭✭✭Xander10

Scotland have had a few iffy goalkeepers over the years. He has to keep that out

I've never known any Scots, even Rangers fans, to have an issue with us in international football. They tend to set aside any animosity when they pull on their Scotland shirts (a common anti-England feeling perhaps?). I work with 2 Rangers fans and 1 Hearts fan.

We're watching the tournament winners. Going to batter everyone.

The national team under huge scrutiny in Germany in recent years, they've a point to prove

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,180 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

2-0 now. Musiala with the goal. Keeper couldn't stop that one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,610 ✭✭✭Damien360

Awful defending. This is getting ugly.

Outside the box surely and not a peno

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,180 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Germany close to getting a penalty. VAR decide the foul was just outside the box.

Some relief for Scotland. Would be dead and buried otherwise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,610 ✭✭✭Damien360

Where are Scotland going to get even one goal ? Under severe pressure and can't get forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,284 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

thought it may have bounced off the post into the back of the keeper.

    no pen in the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,507 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

Can't believe a midfield containing McTominay is being completely over-ran.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,067 ✭✭✭✭martingriff

While not a fan of the rule but by letter of the law should Havertz have got a yellow for playing on and kicking it in the net

How did this Scotland team manage to beat Spain in the qualifiers? Or are Spain crap at the minute?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,154 ✭✭✭DellyBelly

hopefully not but you could be right...you forget a lot of these Scottish players are SPL players which ain't a great standard....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,284 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

that should be a red and peno

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,662 ✭✭✭CalamariFritti
