Mcilroy could be in joint lead at least after that tee shot from bryson

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,819 ✭✭✭Panrich

DeChambeau lost his concentration there with the banter and it could prove costly.

Edit: Or not. Lucky break in the bunker but great shot all the same.

Was just thinking the same. Playing to the crowd

He got lucky with that lie in that nice big flat bunker.

    Unreal shot by Bryson

    Absolutely top drawer.

Ridiculously difficult course and he's eating it up.

Looking a bit one sided now. Maybe Bryson won't be use to having to play 4 rounds😉

    Aberg following Finau's example

    That green is so fast.

    He hardly touched that ball

I just turned it off, I can't watch that despicable cretin getting cheered on. I'll keep an eye on the scores tomorrow and if somebody gets close I'll turn it on.

    Again Bryson, please stop

he has played fantastic in fairness. Him last out with Rory would be interesting tomorrow

    Shocking from Rory there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,275 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I don't care how he's played. I want but misery for him and the rest of them.

That was an horrendous bunker shot Rory faced. It was excellent all things considered. He has a chance to salvage par.

But he misses. It was the tee shot that cost him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,349 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

It's annoying cos he hits a bad shot, it clips bunker face and shoots to close to far side of bunker. Bryson is flaking shots all round and getting nice lies unimpeded

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,819 ✭✭✭Panrich

In fairness, with a 9 iron in his hand, that bunker should never have been in play. It was always going to be almost impossible when he short-sided himself.

Hard to see anyone catching Bryson if he plays like this tomorrow.

Bryson's feet were all over the place on that tee shot and it still landed on the fairway. He's played alright, but the talk that you can't brute your way around this course has been dispelled.

Rory has played well at times, no, he's played well for the most part, I can't really fault him that much. He's made a few mistakes though, he hasn't been consistent.

Double bogey for DeChambeau on 16. It's quite fitting really. Back to -6. Rory finished at -4.

Why do they play majors too late in America...

IIt is daft ..always getting dark

    Well 5 hour + rounds don't help

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,181 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Good tee shot by Bryson in fairness on 17. Chance of a birdie.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,888 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

How the **** is that putter for Bryson legal

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,349 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Christ Rory should run through 1st hole tomorrow so Cantley has to speed up. They better start earlier tomorrow. Farce how last groups weren't penalised

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,888 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Modern golf..just lash it up there..get loft on it ...even at US open..

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,181 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Bryson is just murdering the ball, no thought about position. He's wild left off the tee on 18. I hope it punishes him, but I doubt it, from what's gone before.

  • Registered Users Posts: 568 ✭✭✭Cetyl Palmitate

For all Brysons great shots over the last few holes he has had some great luck from at least 3 terrible tee shots. Way offline and left with a decent lie and shot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,888 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

I think the strategy works..majority of balls end on sand bit ..so good spin into greens

Even in rough ..power and loft working

    Sadly the modern game..

I have a feeling , bryson has used up all his luck today.

Question then is, who has the balls to take the momentum away from him tomorrow.

Don't think this is done and dusted by any means
