Club fitting - Munster area

Just did an iron fitting with Padraig last week, found him to be very good. My plan was a full bag and his suggestion was to split it into 2 sessions so to avoid over-hitting in one session. I knew I had an issue that my longer clubs (4i - driver) distances were not matching the rest of my bag, after doing my iron fitting had a 5 minute chat on a small technical issue in my swing, I'm going to do a few lessons to iron that out before doing my driver/woods fitting. But I liked how he wasn't always up-selling, he was very clear on the fact my current clubs were not miles off but that the fitting was going to tighten my dispersion. The prices he quoted for my irons were very competitive with the "superstores" offerings.

He was using mizuno (irons) heads for the fitting but had me hit some cobra & titleist as well. Mainly to say once he had me fit on a ball flight and club he could equate that to almost any manufacturer & at that point it will probably come down to the aesthetics - look/feel as performance will be very close.

I found it interesting that I've more made a decision that I'd like to treat myself to a new set of clubs (newest club in my bag is ~ 16 years old) his main comment was my irons were not far off (23 year old Titleist of the rack set) gave me a wrap on the knuckles for my grips… Tough to spend on new grips when you're looking at buying a new set… But I think even when I buy I will regrip the old set - never know when they might be needed (travel set maybe)/sold on…
