After the last Olympia show, I thought we might see him over here again, in some guise, but evidently not. Two Porcupine tree shows and two solo shows in Dublin over the years, and one apiece in Belfast. I think that's it.

2025 Gigs and Events: Stuart Murdoch, Lyle Lovett, Camera Obscura, The Corrs/Imelda May/Natalie Imbruglia, Olivia Rodrigo, Iron Maiden, Neil Young/Van Morrison, Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey, Weezer, The Doobie Brothers, Billie Eilish (x2), Oasis, Sharon Van Etten, The Human League, Deacon Blue

Was at PT in the Red Box and Wilson solo in the Olympia (and Belfast). I knew about a PT gig back around In Absentia timeframe (but missed it) … what other Wilson solo gig happened in Dublin ?

My mistake. Porcupine Tree played Temple Bar Music Centre for In Absentia, but that Olympia show was the only solo one.

    Disappointed there's no Irish date.

The Olympia show was fantastic, so loud!!

👍️PT in Temple Bar Music Centre was the one I missed :-(

Depressingly routine to see Dublin absent from these tours now.

I got two tickets for the Monday show in London, no perorder necessary. Good seats for £155 total.

4 of us just got Berlin tickets painlessly in the Pre-Sale. Considering doing Hamburg the following night also

Going to be interesting to see the setlist 🤔

Very - by the time the tour starts there will be 3 albums worth of material he has never played live. It will be a Porcupine Tree free zone I reckon. Would love if he dusted off some Grace For Drowning material.

To be honest I don't think he , or Porcupine Tree, have a decent following in Ireland.

PT in the Music Center on the In Absentia tour was criminally under attended (I wasn't there but so I've been told)
PT in The Red Box on The Incident Tour was sold out - but I think the capacity was only around 600.
Wilson solo in Belfast - again , was fairly sparse (excellent gig though)
Wilson solo in Dublin was well attended but not surprised to see him not return.

Tripod was surely the smallest venue on that tour. Something very odd about them playing a venue that size here and then the Albert Hall a few days later. Mind you, it's not that dissimilar from what Marillion have done, I suppose.

Ah - Tripod. Thank you - I knew when I was typing The Red Box I was wrong but the name escaped me.

Pity we're missing out. Same with Dream Theater. I'd say there would be demand but seemingly not a lot of appetite from promotors and bands alike in the prog metal space. When Rush came they sold out the 3arena if I correctly recall.

I was at the Tripod gig, the crowd weren't great ( few dopes kept asking them to play 'Trains') and didn't seem like a big crowd for a small venue. Possibly not worth them playing here as they probably won't get following

I’ll be at the London Palladium on the 20th, which should be fun. I wasn’t sure about going, but when I had a look at the ticket site, there was a seat available in the second row of the circle, so I jumped on it.

I edited this post since Steven did tell us who’s in the band:

The band line up for The Overview tour will be myself, Nick Beggs, Adam Holzman, Craig Blundell and Randy McStine, with hopefully a special guest here and there.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.
