So Theresa, any opinion on all the environmental impact done in order to furnish you with an 'environmentally-friendly EV' ?

Also, any ideas what we can do to responsibly dispose of your battery when it's life is spent ? If you do, can you let the manufacturers know as well please, because they're looking for ideas.

Back to peterdil and diesel so until an actual alternative working affordable tech is developed/discovered

None of the billions/trillions spent appear to be doing anything logical or rational but many corps making bank!

Can she not tape a rake of rechargeable AA batteries together and slap them in there instead? 😉 It'll cost a lot less than €4,000.

Edit: Her bill came to €5,807.88(and that was with a 25% "goodwill gesture" discount). Yikes! 😳

There's a thread on the VW ID4 and another on the Toyota Bz4X in the Motors forum, the amount of bugs and faults on them for €50k cars is an absolute disgrace, like something your neighbour built out in his shed with parts he got down the local scrapyard. No excuse for it from companies around for nearly 100 years.

KT not very good at this, Joe would be demanding the head of Nissan comes on air.

I forget what Chinese make it is, maybe even BYD where they have self replacement centres for batteries where you pull in, put the car on a ramp and the battery gets replaced. You pay for the new one and drive off. Looks great b

I'd park the car up outside the dealer with signs all over it saying what an absolute ball of sheite the car warranty is.

A few pieces of folded twenty Major foil could do the trick.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,169 ✭✭✭Tow

It is the same with most cars, the battery can be changed easy enough. Problem is fixing a faulty cell in a battery.

In other countries, various independent EV battery rebuilders have sprung up.

Not come across one here, yet.

In every case I've seen, the cost of a non-dealer battery rebuild / replacement is a fraction of the full-on rip-off from the dealer.

To be fair here, faulty cell should equal faulty battery as you can’t replace a single cell. Manufacturers need a bit of a kicking from legislators if they’re hiding behind the faulty cell excuse.

I've had a few cars hitting 15 years and they still pured like a cat, I still see one of the steeds driving around locally that is coming up on 21 years old.
