Topper Recommendations

Is this something your going to do regularly? Wouldn't buy a topper if ya weren't. Most of them are the same, but try get an offset one and not those that follow the tractor wheel that flattens what's about to be cut

Thinking of getting a verge mower here for topping under hedges and road verges. Anyone any experience?

Yes. Have the Clontrac 2.2metre one. Very handy for making quick work of mulching the sides of hedges. One thing that is needed is power.

Have one for years, trouble free, it's a handy out for such work and for having to cut a bit of heavy over grown ground, it would eat up a patch of briars or bracken in no to time. Do a grand job the side of a low hedge alright if there was no fence but it's no sub for a hedge cutter.

Got it 2nd hand off a Wexford man who used to specialise in them, very sound.

I've some 1 acre paddocks that I could use it on plus the roadside verge gets fairly overgrown here in the summer but the council don't go up our road.

You go round so the topper is set to the inside.

Lift the topper on the corners to go easy on the topper.

Going anti-clockwise would make no sense as you’d be driving on the uncut ground all the time.

thinking of getting a verge mulcher, I presume it would be covered on TAMS.

it would be good to keep bits tidy and topper for open grass areas.
