Derry are not team to be chasing a game, need to be ahead so other team comes out and they can hit them on the counter.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Thank god that’s over and that Kerry have won it.

I could not watch another minute of Mickey Harte football this summer

Hopefully he retires. Derry have some serious footballers who are better than this shite

Derry settled for a narrow loss and a moral victory. The fear of losing seems to outweigh the desire to win for many teams.

Thank God that's over. A real crap football game.

Fair dues to Kerry (I suppose) that was a real banana skin fixture. Kerry would have lost that type of match in the not too distant past.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Been at it all game. Earlier he said they hadn't scored in 12 mins after they just popped over a point.

just 1 more set of anti football thugs(Armagh) for Kerry to get by and we might get a half decent final

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,618 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Haha depends on your viewpoint. `The old way used to be catch and kick, hail mary shots. Now possesion is king and the number of wides are fewer. There was an AI SF where Dublin played Tyrone and they hardly hit any wides all the shots inside the D - "the scoring zone".

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Was impressed with Cillian Burke when he came in. Would have him start ahaead of Moynihan the last day, who looks better off the bench when I have seen him.

Brolly’s sour, overwrought and highly personalised column next Sunday might be worth reading for once.

Once Kerry got to grips with McGuigan,Derry were completely toothless and probably ran out of legs in the 2nd half. They almost looked relieved going off the pitch.

Easy enough for Kerry in that 2nd half and they never needed Clifford or O Se to get into the game at all.

the mayo Derry game last week was worse

But was on Gaa Go so wasn’t seen by as many . And they were the lucky ones

It was even worse in person

Derry poor in second half. Didn't/weren't able to up the ante which I thought might be the gameplan.

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,211 ✭✭✭✭km79

with 3 minutes to go and 3 points down they still had 15 players inside their own 45 and Conor Glass sweeping

My god .that was atrocious...how has football become so bad ...when you think of the great football played in the 80s 90s.teams like kerry. Dublin meath kildare and a few others were playing exciting football. And those lads were not on any diets .fancy gyms .and no way as built as big as the present players and not on the same fitness level..what's ruining football today is too much tactics..over analysing of games. Over fit players..to see a lot of them jst passing it to each other while standing was pathetic..rip foot ball...quicker its over the betrr .changing rules too is ruining the game. Images we have the footage and hurling since 1886 and they still bringing out new rules ???

In what way are Armagh characterised as thugs, do they get more cards than other teams? There is no evidence of that.

Armagh and the other three remaining teams play in much the same way, they defend and they counter attack.

Pathetic effort from Derry whoever orchestrated that gameplan would want to be told the objective is to win the bloody match

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,075 ✭✭✭threeball

Can't understand how anyone could run out of legs in a game played at walking pace.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,195 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

Management teams are now more focused on not losing rather than finding ways to win.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,418 ✭✭✭cmac2009

As someone already mentioned, the sooner these changes come in the better. Diabolical to watch and the kerry players interviewed after seem keenly aware of that too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭Seadin

Kerry will walk the All ireland. The team that are out (Dublin) are the team they don't like playing and would probably find it difficult to beat.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,436 ✭✭✭robbiezero

Wonder will there be a push to get rid of Harte.

They are at nothing with him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,436 ✭✭✭robbiezero

Good point. Whatever was up with them, they exited with a whimper.

3 pts down 5 of normal and 5 of injury to go and Canning was and quite rightly talking about Kerry in the semi final.

Micky Harte left Louth before his agreed tenure expired as he thought he'd have a good chance of winning one more All Ireland with Derry. He let Louth down, Tyrone down and 99% of Derry people down who never wanted him. And ironically Louth got as far Derry in this years championship. He'd have been better off (maybe not financially) staying at Louth. Loyalty is priceless.
