Red robin hedging - losing lusture/colour.

    I sowed some red robin hedging earlier in the year and it took off with a spurt however its now lost it gloss and looks lighter in colour and looks a bit drained for want of a better explanation. Leaves are gone a paler green and paler red. Its in full sun and fairly sure got enough water/rain.

    Any advice as to what it needs?

    I had two plants left over and poped them into pots and they have kept the bright vibrant look!
