If that team starts, it is a strong team with a chance.

Limerick haven't played in a month and we have proven that we can score goals against them.

The open spaces of Croker will suit a lot of our players too.

There will be a Huge Cork crowd behind them, bigger than normal I reckon.

    Bring it on !!

Bit of a negative lineup with cloning the goalkeeper 25 times 🤣

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,015 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

I think the wide open spaces of Croke Park, will suit a team with plenty of pace like us. Limerick will be seriously hard to beat, but we have it in us to push them all the way. There is a big game in us i think.

It's going to take our most complete performance of the year, and a bit of luck as well to pull this one off. Nobody gave Galway a chance against Dublin in the football last week either.

Really looking forward to the game now. It is an 82,300 sellout!!!

The main thing is that we play to our potential and leave it all on the field. I think we have the firepower to hurt them but we give them a run and it will be over before you know it.

It would be nice to have us get a bit of luck or bounce of the ball. But I do believe in making your own luck as well. Before I was going in hope that we play well and they have an off day. Now I still hope for that but I think we can still beat them if they are not. The earlier game doesn't really matter now but it does matter only in the sense we know its possible to beat them. Things like that count when it comes down to the wire.

If there is one thing we have learned from this Pat Ryan team is that they finish games strong but we also know Limerick will never give up! Both benches are very strong and I think its whose subs make the biggest impact will win. It depends on early injuries and yellow cards too. A defender getting roasted on either team or an early yellow card means he needs to be replaced early than what was thought and this leads to a cascade effect with impact subs coming on way earlier.

I'm not confident about the game but also not pessimistic. It is a weird feeling of if we perform, I think we will win. Will we perform though? Chances are yes as I think we targeted this game a while back. Yes we know how good Limerick are but one should always look to within and your own performance. The biggest issue we have is a poor goalkeeper. In fairness, he did do well against Dublin and Offaly but with respect this is a higher level.

If the game goes along with a trend of Limerick leading by a point or two all the time then we are basically hoping for another Grandstand finish again. This will be very hard to replicate but as I have said all year, we do finish well. If however, we go up by a few and the lead changes a lot then I think we have a great chance. This would mean the teams are basically level. If we have to chase the game, I think its a losing bet as Limerick are too good to reel in. If they have to chase the game suddenly they are under pressure. This is unlikely but possible. More than likely we stay with them and hopefully go ahead a few times. The importance of going ahead is vital as it shows them we aren't just hanging onto their coattails. In that situation, once they get a goal and a few points tacked on it could be over.

Totally agree with Straight talker above, a complete performance is needed and I do think Croke Park will suit us. I thought the exact same thing about the Dublin football result. Everyone looks unbeatable until they are beaten. Then everyone will say the signs were there. If we can get our pacey style game going then we will look unstoppable all of a sudden. Its getting up to that level is the key. This is why I say we need to look to ourselves and our own performance.

Great to see 3 players from the Senior panel stop by a club before an important game.

ladies football v Waterford on TG4 now, leading 0-4 to 0-1 after 10 min

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,541 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Awful last 15 mins. Haven't scored and given away 1-1

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,541 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Half time and a point up. Cork have the wind in second half so that should really help us.

Kept an eye on the kk v Dublin camogie game. Surprised at how poor kk looked. Maybe they are in a rebuilding phase? Dublin were better and deserved the win. They won't beat Tipp or Cork though

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,541 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Cork pulling away as expected. Waterford struggling to get out of their own half against the wind.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,541 ✭✭✭The White Feather

    Cork 1-17 Waterford 2-4

A good win in the end. I did love one of Waterfords goals though. Very well worked and taken.

Now we face either Galway or Dublin in the semis

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,539 ✭✭✭Seadin

Clare's win against Kilkenny should inspire Cork tomorrow to go out give it a lash and see what happens.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,541 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Ladies will be playing Galway who knocked out the champions Dublin after an epic extra time needed game!

As regards tomorrow, I think todays semi final game showed that which ever teams subs come on and make the biggest impact will decide the game. 2 great benches but who comes on and makes a difference is the key.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,015 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

Time really is running out for Hoggie and Seamus Harnedy here.

Hopefully (i think there is) there is a big performance in Cork, and who knows with a bit of luck we might slay the Limerick giant!

I think we have it in us to give them a bit of trouble. Please god 🙏 we'll pull it off. Rebels Abu!🔴⚪
