No tag titles match or any women's titles matches

Jey on the poster, is he winning, I think Chad would be a good option

    I hope Damian retains

I assume Punk is costing Drew, build more for their SS match which does not need the title

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,008 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Jey winning looks too obvious and interference could prevent some of the others in the match from winning. Can still see one of the guys in 'other' storylines still winning It. Drew winning and then cashing in on Gunther at Bash in Berlin would be great

Women's I'd go with Tiffany Stratton, she is red hot atm

Are we finally going to see heel Orton again ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90,415 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

I think Solo vs. Cody for the title is scheduled for SS so may have to wait on heel Orton

Decided last minute to grab tickets for the ppv tomorrow as I'll be moving back home to Ireland at the end of the month. Should be a good atmosphere

What a spot there from Carmelo and Andrade

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,008 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

    jesus grab the **** thing

didnt expect Drew to win it tbh but great choice. A certain CM Punk didnt appear as expected yet anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90,415 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

Both really impressed in that ladder match especially Carmelo

Drew didn't need the win, his Punk feud does not need a title involved

Samantha singing the American national anthem in Canada was nice, she really can sing, I suppose given July 4th week it was appropriate

Apparently CM Punk, AJ Lee and John Cena are in Toronto

A great catch by Bron, could have been nasty for Sami

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,008 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Cena returned at last years MITB too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,008 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Just as i said that ha

The Judgement Day turning on Priest tonight ?

Cena getting in on the Netflix deal

Jaysus the farewell tour for Cena will have an emotional ending at Mania. That's for sure. I wonder will he do live events up till then, seems it's aimed for 2025 so probably not. Which means it probably could have waited till SummerSlam or even Survivor Series for the announcement but I suppose the merchandise has to be shilled like crazy beforehand 🤣

Waste of a MITB, the Drew and Punk feud didn't need it. Punk could have cot him the ladder match instead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,008 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Bit of a waste of the MITB and as someone said earlier the fued doesn't need a title etc

Suppose this Reopens Rollins vs Punk too

Ah, I think it's clever enough as Punk costing Drew both MITB AND screwing Seth as collateral damage works going forward. Plus it gets rid of someone marching around with the briefcase for the next year. Plus Priests reign is extended which has been low key excellent in terms of match quality.

    Long. Term. Booking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90,415 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

So who will Cena's WM opponent be, a past opponent like Punk or Orton or give a newbie the rub like Bron or Carmelo

As soon as Drew was cashing in, it was just a wait for Punk, a wasted MITB win

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 55,602 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

If the six man tag is main eventing we're getting some more cinema tonight imo anyways.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,008 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Was going to suggest a Roman return but not if he dads funeral was today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90,415 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

Priest missed his kick out, Seth had the 3 count

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,008 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Hope it's not another Angle/Corbin type thing

If it's a 'newbie' maybe Carmelo or Bron as you suggested. Anyone on the NXT roster nowadays worth the spot ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,231 ✭✭✭✭B.A._Baracus

Could be wrong but I think they're going for a double switch going forward. Punk heel and Drew face.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 55,602 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Zoey Stark with a collection of botches in about two mins. Nearly knocked herself out to boot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90,415 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

Maybe Ethan Page or Brian Pillman Junior (Lexis) ?

Yeah I can see the sense in it but the crowd just won't go with it. I think the best they can hope for is two tweeners. Crowds just aren't going to stop chanting for Punk.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90,415 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

Chelsea is hilarious, jumping for the briefcase

Tiffany looks nervous on the ladder

You have it out for Tiffany for some reason Liz😂

It's Tiffy in the Bank now!

Great choice for the Women's MITB

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 55,602 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Easily the best women's MITB match too. Some very good spots off the ladders, Iyo and Zoey being the highlight but Lyra's tarantula German suplex was class too

I actually don't mind her winning, she is incredibly over for a heel, I would let her keep the case for a bit

It had some botches but overall an enjoyable ladder match

I still think Tiffany looks nervous on some top spots though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,008 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Bit of a botch there with that low blow

Vinnie mac with be spinning in his chair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,393 ✭✭✭ThePott

I think I'll excuse the low blow botch. Tanga looked like he got his bell rung after hitting his head on the announce table, didn't look good.

Men's MITB was good. Kinda agree that Punk/Drew probably didn't need the briefcase. As for whether it was a waste, maybe. I mean it furthered that feud and a feud with Seth but I can see the argument. I think WWE doesn't want to book two MITB holders at the same time. Priest had a long run with the briefcase too so I'm fine with not having a long run with it either. I'm not sure I wanted many people in the match to have the briefcase outside of Drew anyway so, I'd let it slide.

Sami/Bron was good. I think a lot of people expected a Bron win but at the same time if he won he'd probably be this unstoppable monster and we just had that with Gunther and the IC title.

The women's MITB for me was match of the night. There was a few missteps but when you're working with ladders and all the spots I think it's forgivable. Everyone in this match just looked good coming out of it. So many mental spots. As much as Zoey is pretty bleh she's been a warrior in the last two money in the bank matches. Chelsea going through the tables was a crazy spot and one of the crispest looking bumps through a table I've ever seen. Tiffany is a great choice too for MITB.

Six man main eventing was the wrong choice. It was fine, it got Jacob Fatu over big. Other than that it wasn't anything too special. The cross rhodes looks bad with someone of Solo's size and doing three of them is overkill at this point. Was a bit of a car crash and I think most assumed something would happen since it was main eventing. Just felt a bit obvious as a match.

    Cena retiring😥

Kinda surprised Punk's interference didn't cause at DQ, was it anything goes No DQ triple threat when Drew joined?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,393 ✭✭✭ThePott

Yeah when Drew cashed in, the match was announced as becoming a triple threat match. Therefore, no DQ.

I agree the Cross Rhodes on Solo looked bad and despite taking 3, Solo was able to pin Cody, did not expect that (even with all his loses the now tribal chief pinned the champ)

It didn't deserve to main event

I'm guessing Cena's retirement announcement was the changing landscape forever

Tiffany was asked about a Trish match and from their interaction could happen Tiffy Time vs. Trishy Time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Was there really a need to for Drew to win MitB and fail to cash it in? That was a waste of two matches really for the Drew/Punk storyline.

Sami is always at his best when chasing the title not when he is champion.

Zoey Starks will be lucky is she doesn't have a major concussion after that ladder match.

Chelsea Green is just so good.

The botch kings of NJPW the G.O.D still at it in the WWE is great to see, Tama and Tanga are still great though.

Jacob Fatu really is the man he showed it in MLW for years how good he is and that he deserved to be in the big leagues just surprsied it took so long.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,008 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Wonder what Rollins will do for Summerslam

Hardly make it a triple threat Punk vs Drew vs Rollins

Never would've predicted what Cena was going to say from all the merch he was wearing.

Was thinking that maybe Matt Cardona might show up to try and help Chelsea. But I guess if Piper wasn't going to help why would he?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90,415 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

I think Drew vs. Punk needs to be one on one but if Punk isn't 100% a triple threat would help cover for him

Could Punk vs. Seth then last until next year's WM

    Enjoyed that show.

Have to acknowledge the big botches. The old constant camera cuts gave me brain fog but actually hid a lot of the mistakes!

Jacob Fatu is fantastic. Tama as a 'savage' works so well. They have done a great job of making them so animated wile Solo is a bit more calm as leader. I wasn't expecting to see Cody lose at all any time soon. Overall they have Solo in a place to challenge now, even though it's the Bloodline it is fresh with a new leader and brand new support cast.

I was also surprised to see Bronn losing as he did. But it was good to see the WWE booking another face like an actual capable and skilled performer, that can achieve wins and back up their words. They have Sami in a place where a loss to him is actually fine.

Womens MITB was scary at times but I couldn't look away and they had the right winner.

The big talking point of course was MITB cash in (good match in its own right), Drew, Punk,Rollins and Priest. The WWE did a brilliant job of putting so many little things together.

Priest desperate to prove himself, no interference, has his match interrupted by the guy he cashed in on and ends up winning thanks to CM Punk (just like when he cashed in).

Rollins can no longer challenge for the title while Priest is champion - largely thanks to a person he hates and has said would destroy everything.

Drew's loses everything again thanks to the person he is obsessed with after all he said about Rollins becoming too obsessed with the Rock is perfect.

Punk at the source of it all is perfect, the guy who is supposed to cause problems for everyone wherever he goes, standing on the announcers table with a 'why are you blaming me' look was ideal.

Punk as a shít-stirring agent of chaos is good fun.

Ouch Tama may have a concussion lol
