Funny you say that… In fairness to him he'll freely admit he's at it for the bitta craic.

First they came for the socialists...

I think there at where KK were around 2013, I'll this team will eek out 1 or 2 more AI's but the team will break up after that.

Cork I would think are away cuter than Mayo to get caught like that

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,999 ✭✭✭awaywithyou

Clare you would be thinking will not cope with Cork full forward line

I’m a Galway man but was at the match with my wife who is from Cork. That was up there with the Tipperary Galway semi-final trilogy. Top class atmosphere as well.

Cork for Liam and Galway for Sam!

Although the throwing will be off the charts in the final since Cork are involved, hopefully this Limerick defeat will be the beginning of the end of the throwball era

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,806 ✭✭✭corny

Who knew that the way to beat Limerick was to go after their perceived strength. Collins played some lovely puck outs into space but i really liked the fact that the majority of his strikes were just basic punts up the middle. Drop it in there and fight them for it kind of approach.

Thought the ref did really well. A few iffy calls here and there but a game played at that pace is always going to be a challenge.

Plenty of Limerick cockiness after 2018 so time to repay it.

A cracking game, well done Cork, no 5 in a row for Limerick

Very tough final to call. Cork will surely not play that well again. All 6 forwards were purring.

    My combined Kilkenny/Limerick 4 in a rowers:

    Quaid

    Finn

    Morrissey

    Tyrrell

    Walsh

    Hannon

    Delaney

    Lynch

    Fennelly

    Hegarty

    Hayes

    Larkin (tight call with Morrissey)

    Gillane

    Shefflin

    Brennan

All-time greats like Richie and TJ weren't regular starters till after that run so weren't considered.

Cork as a team were pretty much at their best. Horgan still got 5 points.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭PeggyShippen

Brian Hayes deserved man of the match. Outstanding for the full game. Hegarty stunk the place out today. It was just one of those days. He tried an awful lax pick up and for me that summed it up. His shot would have gone in if he kept it low aswell. Shane o Brien had an extremely poor wide and should have kept going for goal. He has no confidence in his own pace. O Dalaigh would have kept going. Still I won't fault him. Morrissey's laissez-faire wides were a killer. Clare will go in under the radar but we ll ask different questions. Finally to Limerick. What great champions they have been.

Brilliant game and great that Cork won. Limerick winning again would be no good for the sport.

Oh how I wish the powers that be broadcast that match instead of the Euro final across Europe.

Put the final back a day and show the hurling in the original prime time slot.

It would surely catch the imagination of a whole continent, a far superior product than the boring soccer served up at the Euros - what an advertisement for the game of hurling today was !!

I am on a “high” from going through that today and I am a neutral!!

Guess that puts an end to the debate, Kilkenny 06-09 were the greatest team of all time

Maybe I'm being overly critical but that goal chance he pulled on was a terrible decision. He must of known he had acres behind him and was so far ahead of Quaid all he needed to do was pick and round him.

I dunno. Easy from the stand. But I thought if that cost them it would be a killer.

I was up in the nosebleeds today and you could see a lot of throwing going on. It’s a real problem, and the only negative I’d have about hurling as a sport. I’d be in favour of a league trial with no hand passing.

I loved seeing long puck outs, no sweeper rubbish, dropping high balls in around the square.

Brilliant win for Cork but I'd still give Clare every chance in the final. They need to find a renewed aggression as their last few games were very passive but they have the tools to hurt Cork. Cork were wide open at the back in the first half but Limericks reluctance to push for goals meant they weren't really punished but Clare are a different animal and give them a sniff of goal and they'll go for it. O'Donnell has goal on his mind if he even turns the defender inside the 45 and they have no fear of Cork. Could be a cracking final

There's 6 years of bitterness coming out!

Great game. Limerick didn't play to their usual high standard, but that could have been due to the Cork pressure which barely stopped throughout. Cork deserve the win, they just played better.

Sad to see the drive for 5 end, but no team has managed that so even though it would have been nice, Limerick are still only the third team to do 4 in a row. They're still the only team to have ever done 6 provencials in a row. They have the second longest win streak in championship hurling if I'm not mistaken. A legendary team that have given all and more to us Limerick folk, and we couldn't be prouder. Let's go for 7 provincials and start a new drive for 5 next year.

Absolutely no idea who to shout for in 2 weeks. I think Cork would be easier to take as winners than Clare. They're a bit further away...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,542 ✭✭✭Seadin

Cork won't have any fear of Clare either which makes it an interesting final. If Clare win then they can thank Cork for defeating the team they failed to beat on so many occasions.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Best joke I've heard all day

How did it go last time they played each other?

Cork couldnt play like that in previous years because they didnt have anyone in the half forward line that could win aerial ball.

They havent really had a target man for a long time but thankfully that seems to have changed.
