Does anyone know if any restaurant is meant to be opening where Baths in Clontarf Dublin 3 used to be. The building looks a bit unloved. There was rumours something was opening few months ago but nothing so far.

Just wondering if anyone know anything?

The Baths was bought by The Press Up Group, Ireland’s largest hospitality company according to their website. The previous owners were bedogged with problems from the very start and business wilted away until they finally closed the doors a few years ago.

However, Press Up Group are not without their issues and have been selling off assets probably to keep their creditors happy.

So, I’d say they’re just sitting on what is a prime property until such time they have the time and resources to bring it up to it’s full potential.

At least the pool is still being fully utilised thank goodness.

I see Press Up Group have called in the receivers and the two main principals - Paddy McKillan Jnr and Matt Ryan are no longer with the business.
Expect nothing to happen with The Baths for quite a while. But if anyone has a few spare euro, you might get a grade one location for a song.

Yup I thought it was unusual that it was close for so long.

    Such a pity.

Apologies, there’s no receiver. Press Up borrowed all their money from Cheyne Captial. Cheyne have appointed a restructuring specialist to manage the operation of the business and get as much debt repaid as they can. Good luck to them!
