Need help extending WiFi distance.

Hello all, I live in a cabin in the back garden of my families home. They have a fibre optic broadband but I can't connect to it, i'm about 12ft from the rear door and about 20ft or so from the new router (which is the smallest router i've ever seen, so about 20 or so feet in total from the router). If I got a WiFi repeater and put it as close to the rear door as possible should that help? i'm thinking about getting one that you can just plug into an electric socket. I intend to use it to play my Xbox if etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I've tried watching YouTube videos etc but they're kinda confusing.

Look into a fairly powerful Mesh system, it should be good enough to get the signal to your abode.

Maybe people better suited to answer but from my simple/non-tech option to improve WIFI signals in my house (which also reaches the bottom of my garden, comfortably) I used Amazon EERO - very easy to set up.

Sure there will be other similar systems available, good thing with Amazon, try it, doesn't work you can easily return.

Thanks for the advice. I bought a xiomi WiFi range extender n300 and when I went to plug it in I realised it has an EU plug type… I'll get an adapter for the plug. Any idea if the extender I got is any good?

Can you try a powerline adapter? Assuming you are on the same circuit.

You'll get an EU adapter plug from Amazon or most hardware stores easy enough - set it up and see if it is powerful enough - the cost of a plug adapter way less than a new mesh network or powerline adapter etc

Excuse my ignorance but is a powerline adapter a socket I can plug the EU plug into? I'm not sure about the circuit, I have my own fuse box (or whatever it's called) but I assume my power comes via the main house. I'm going up to power city later to look for one. I thought MESH was to strengthen WiFi in an area and not to increase its range?

And i will say consider running Ethernet link + switch(for wired devices) + decent AP for WiFi

That product I got this morning seems to be doing the trick. The connection isn't A1 but it's the first night i've played my Xbox without lagging since I moved here. My brothers fiance got me one today as well (not knowing I already bought one) so I was thinking if I plug my one into a socket in my cabin will it help the latency even more or should I just leave it? All the help was much appreciated.

Possibly extender probably has a better antenna than the computer. IFor best connection especially if the cabin has foil insulation you'll want to aim for line of sight through through windows between the extenders.

is your modem up high . and can you position it better . a lot of people have modems close to the ground and the signal gets blocked

Probably not unless you can get it from a reseller of the other wholesale providers. Would be probably easier to run an outdoor-grade Ethernet cable from your parents' router to the cabin.

Or you could go with Starlink satellite broadband and install it in your own place
