    Boyds had a rough tournament.

    Id have Moloney starting.

Other than that I wouldn't disagree.

Boyd held Asher in English game in Bath at Tight head. Could start there this weekend. Ben to start loosehead with DS at hooker

Those English positions all look wrong.

Or ner69 is onto something with a prop at 10!

  • Registered Users Posts: 434 ✭✭Rugbyf565

why do they keep chopping and changing the props?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,556 ✭✭✭Dubinusa

Looking at our team, I think we will struggle. Boyd is better on the opposite side, imo. No Sparrow? Could use some grunt. Howard starting? I don't know!

    Don't know what about Howard?

consiering some of guys missing we could find it difficult but it's a development competition so no harm if they have it tricky enough. .

What would you do instead? They clearly don't know their best props and they're giving more guys chances and nothing wrong with that tbh.

ok there’s a lot of mouth on this channel, let’s see who understands it best.

    Name the team and margin.

    Heart says Ireland by 5

    Head says England by 9

A fudge I know but only the head decisions are counted

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,556 ✭✭✭Dubinusa

    I think England by 10

  • Registered Users Posts: 434 ✭✭Rugbyf565

Play Sparrow, he’s closest player I’ve seen to a young Tadhg Furlong in years

    Getting killed in the scrum

Ireland are at sea defensively when England move the ball and are being taken apart at the scrum. Uphill battle.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,519 ✭✭✭typhoony

    What a hit by gleeson

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,279 ✭✭✭Clo-Clo

About to go in front….boys are playing good stuff

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,330 ✭✭✭Locke_Lamora

Definitely playing well but defence matters. I don't think this England team are particularly special but we have a glaring weakness that happens to be their main strength.

England lads look to be significantly bigger, we seem to be more mobile

If we can just keep away from scrums we have a chance

  • Registered Users Posts: 68,814 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

    Scrum and discipline killing them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 165 ✭✭FtD v2

Fighting as best we can here, but just can’t live with their pack.

  • Registered Users Posts: 434 ✭✭Rugbyf565

why was sparrow dropped for this? We need him in the scrum

  • Registered Users Posts: 165 ✭✭FtD v2

Gleeson is just incredible. He’s the best 8 in Munster right now and should hopefully be starting a good amount of games next season if he can stay healthy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,279 ✭✭✭Clo-Clo

    That's it over

  • Registered Users Posts: 165 ✭✭FtD v2

No shame, that’s a really good English side. They’ve a monstrous pack, and some excellent players, especially the two props, two flankers and Kpoku in the row.

They fought very hard and there is still some serious talent in this Irish side that will hopefully progress to the next level.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,431 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

that intercept proves devastating in the end. England just much better in the 2nd half, scrum dominance was killer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 42 lonester99

Ireland wont win a JWC till they change the way they develop props in this country, routinely embarrased by everyone at scrum time at this level for the last 2 decades, we probably have the worst scrum bar fiji in the entire tournament. Costs ireland year in year out at the JWC.

Weve been spoiled with generational talents with Helay, Porter and furlong but it covers over the cracks that our system does not produce or prioritise props that can actualy scrummage, that or they arent starting to train them in contested scrums at a young enough age.

THey played well, its a pity they end up with nothing this season after just losing out on 6 nations as well
