Racism in society

In today's day and age, in a society that advertises equality, diversity and inclusion, should Irish people not be so racist towards certain countries.

The reaction to England's loss in the Euros was disgusting. I realise there is history there but there is no need for the hostility towards all English people.

Your facts are wrong,the end of the troubles in NI only happened in 1998 with the signing of the good Friday agreement.lots of people on both sides still alive with memories.

No but supporting a team just because they are playing the English is ridiculous. Even though some of those players are on teams that they support like Liverpool and Man U

Firstly, you are mixing up British with English.

Secondly, what racism was exhibited? People might want none team nor another to winner lose but this isn't racism regardlless of your thoughts on the matter.

ah some humans are just fcuked up in the head and ignorant as fcuk, so issues such as racism will always exist, and the fact theres so much division, anger, frustration, fear, anxiety etc etc, in our societies today, different people will also always be the scapegoats……

It's not all about history. We're next door and it's common in sport for countries close to each other to be rivals. Australia/NZ is one example I can think of. They love it when the other loses.

Pretty silly example. Celebrating failure of English sports teams has nothing at all to do with racism. It couldn't be as genetically the peoples of these islands are birds of a feather as regards genetics.

It's petty, getting really old and boring taking pleasure at England's losses. Its one thing being a sore loser or bad winner but guffawing as a bystander is pretty lame imo.

Supporting a football team and hoping that another team win isnt racism. If everyone wanted England to win would you think they are being racist to the Spanish - I dont think you would.

When the english dont want Ireland to succeed in a sport do you think thats racism?

Having a preference in sport is not racism!
