You should refer to your contract of employment. It might state the notice period required.

Yes they have been no support from, as it only effects me

While you claim that the union is not supporting you I find this somewhat hard to believe.

no I'm the only one who did not volunteer but was removed. there are staff with less service still on the shift

As in volunteer for what?

Based around what you are posting I suspect that there was some negotiation between the Union and Management.

Are you a member of the union?

I would caution posting too much here though.
