Find a way to play Bomberman 93 online? Honestly one of the all time great multiplayer games and the PC engine version is 5 player. There's super Bomberman R and R2 on steam, only played a bit of the first and it felt like the unity game it is.

The new samurai shodown is fantastic and one of the easiest fighting games to get into. All fighters share common inputs for complex moves and there's more emphasis in getting big hits in than combos. Goes on sale regularly and the DLC characters are excellent. Easy enough to set up a lobby and now that it has roll back network code it plays brilliantly online.

Edit: Notice this is on heavy discount on steam at the moment. I'd recommend the DLC characters if it becomes a favourite.

Sonic racing transformed I'd say would be a great laugh.

There's also the slew of recent belt scroller a that are four player like streets of rage 2, river city girls and TMNT shredders revenge.

That game causes more violence than England getting knocked out of the euro finals. It's definitely not chill.

It's a dumber jankier version of helldivers 2 but no less fun. EDF 6 is out next week but you can't go wrong with 4.1 and 5 on steam which had been discounted heavily recently.
