Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

We are looking to sell our 4 bed detached house in Letterkenny, County Donegal and I can't believe what daft are charging!

    To advertise to sell €799.

If you want a premium and that appears at the top of the page...€1499!

How in god's name how can they justify that?

Anyone any ideas where else we can list it as everything now has to be online?

    Kind regards

Are you selling by yourself without the assistance of an estate agent?

    Its steep alright.

Jobs.ie and Irish jobs.ie used to charge mad money like that, then indeed came in and we advertised jobs for much cheaper now. Looks like that industry is ripe for a big player to clean up

Sounds like it, we're hoping to sell it ourselves alright with a lawyer or course.

The usual story of greed. Corner the market and squeeze. Same with most online cartels like donedeal. (100k cars at what 7euro per month) id look into other sites like myhome donedeal etc see what happens?

EA will pay less than that; but will transfer the entire cost to you as fees on top of their % charge.

You may find potential buyers via newspaper ads, local noticeboards and so on - but you absolutely won't find as many as you'll find using daft, myhome, or both.

Most people only search daft, basically.

If the house is likely to be bought as a holiday home, there are other sites that might work for audience; if you're close to the border some people use propertypal which is basically the NI equivalent of daft; but neither really applies to Letterkenny.
