Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Joe Hendry adapting AJ Styles' old theme this week

Fightful reporting Josh Alexander will be a free agent will be a free agent soon.

He would be a good gaijin for NJPW to sign now that Ospreay has left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,876 ✭✭✭hynesie08

He's too good not to have a job but not sure he's AEW/WWE good tbh. Njpw strong and mlw might be his ceiling, unless AEW want to reunite the North.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

His wife is working in TNA as well as the ring announcer. So I'd say he would like a decent contract if they're both going to leave.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 461 ✭✭jface187

Ethan Page what a waste believe his in roh now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,937 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

It's actually Steve Maclin whose contract is up.

It seems Twitter jumped the gun on Josh and Josh seems to be trending for something else now.

I wonder how many of the TNA talent will decide to leave once their contacts are up after Scott was sacked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,937 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Reads like Josh had no option when his contract was up, TNA extened his contract due to a clause.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

SRS saying Alexander had requested they didn’t extend. He had been open to renegotiating but also wanted to see his options but TNA decided to just enforce the extension.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,937 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Fun show tonight delighted for Ali.

On a side note it’s being reported that Scott offered $10m for TNA as well as taking over the entire debt of the company. The offer was turned down flat and no counter was offered.

Scott valued the company between $7m to $12m.

Without Anthem though TNA would have no TV since Anthem own the channel TNA airs on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,937 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Killer Kelly joins The Motor City Machine Guns as a free agent and not having her contract renewed.

Reports over the last while that Anthem don't want to give out new contract to wrestlers now they want to give them a bigger per date deals instead.

The way Matt Hardy and Mike Santana were talking I was expecting them both to join WWE so a bit surprised both are now here at TNA.
TNA really has cooled off really badly since the changed back to the TNA name after that first red hot PPV back as TNA.

    Regards,

    P.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,659 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

For Matt he's still a free agent and could well sign for WWE.

The bigger surprise to me is TNA went for him, Matt's best wrestling days are well behind him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 365 ✭✭Patrick Mahomes

For its first PPV back under the TNA name Hard to Kill they had a record 66k buys for the PPV.
Last weekends Rebellion they had just 500 buys
TNA really has crashed and burned since they fired Scott D’Amore.

    Regards,

    P.

There must be something up with those numbers, either a typo or they don't include all sources. I'm sure they are still well down though.

Hard to Kill was alright, but it wasn't groundbreaking or such a radical change to generate any new interest imo. I'm actually kinda disinterested sinceof the hiatus they took since October to prepare for the "TNA relaunch" wasn't needed at all in the end, as they barely changed anything.

Im glad to see Joe Hendry finally getting a good solid push and capitalising on his theme song getting some social media attention.

Meltzer seems to be implying that TNA could fold under WWE without actually outright saying it.

To be honest if they kept TNA as a separate brand I'd be all for it. There's a lot of talent beyond Grace that can be mined, and WWE talent that could enhance TNA by turning up.

You can't say in one breath that Tony Khan buying ROH was good, while on the other WWE purchasing TNA is a blow to the industry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

    Dave "Plans change" Meltzer?

If they do work more together, I hope everyone can be professional since there are ones in TNA that didn't exactly leave WWE under good terms.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,356 ✭✭✭Cotts72

A TNA/NXT crossover PPV could be could exposure for both brands ...RAW & Smackdown would have too many members to choose from so limit it to just NXT

Maybe include one or 2 prev NXT alumni such as drew, shinsuke, balor or ricochet to add star power to the card from the WWE side

A TNA wrestler fighting Drew you say?

😂😂😂 I had forgotten about this! Id initially thought Moose but if they can reuse this then I'm game 😀

Who is actually running TNA these days since Scott was fired and a lot of the creative team have either quit or been fired as well.

Jordynne having an Open Challenge at Against All Odds next week so I'm guessing it'll be someone from NXT. Maybe Tatum?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,356 ✭✭✭Cotts72

Brooks Jensen teasing an appearance aswell

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

No Jensen but got the Tatum appearance.

And as said in the news thread, Jeff appearing is not exactly the big thing it used to be. Hendry in the title picture seems the most obvious.

Alexander taking the pin in a tag match after being a dominant world champ.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,356 ✭✭✭Cotts72

TNA are doing an awful job building on what they have, Jeff hardy shouldn't be the difference maker...you've credible challengers making the save such as ziggler and Hendry who get stomped yet you're telling me Jeff Hardy is the answer..

    The crossovers continue with

Charlie Dempsey randomly showing up and attacking.

Also Jordynne issued another open challenge for next week so dunno who it'll be. May just be someone from TNA. Could just look online since I believe it's already recorded, but I'll just wait and see.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

One thing I found strange about their appearance on NXT was that the Rascalz didn't interact with Dempsey considering it was assumed if they were gonna be on NXT, that would be the reason. So unless we see interaction next week it'll be strange, especially since all 3 members of NQCC are involved now.

Does seem to be kind of one-sided so far with NXT getting some of TNA's bigger names like Hendry and Grace while TNA gets Izzi Dame. Nothing against Izzi, but I wouldn't class her as top talent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,270 ✭✭✭The White Wolf

Too early to say but surely TNA will benefit by how strong Grace and Hendry have looked, and it's great that the Rascalz got exposure which will likely lead to Lee appearing on TNA.

That being said, while I can't be certain about Hendry, it's inevitable that they will sign Grace unless she is insanely loyal (she already has been to them like Moose). I think her contract is up in January.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

While it would be good for anyone they sign in a financial sense, you've gotta think TNA wouldn't be too happy with them taking their talent. Though I guess if they got the condition of appearances then they benefit for cheaper. So if WWE sign Jordynne but agree to let her keep appearing on TNA on WWE's dime that saves TNA paying her wages.

As for exposure, since TNA is recorded it would make sense to have a couple of bigger names. Like I'm sure more people would tune in if they heard Trick Williams showed up than if Dante Chen showed up.

But the fact Hendry is so over implies plenty of people know him and believe.

Will WWE send some main roster big name talent over for Slammiversary or will it be just some lower down NXT talent.

    Regards,

    P.

It's this weekend an nothing was teased on NXT, so unless Impact sets something up, it's unlikely. At most we'll get the NQCC.

I watched this week's NXT and was only half listening to commentary but I don't think they mentioned Slammiversary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,937 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Everyone expected AJ Styles as the big surprise appearance and no it was……

    Earl Hebner.

Also they really didn't read the room for the World Title match.

A feel fun show overall with Ali vs Speedball being the match of the night for me.

Four from NXT, No Quarter Catch Crew & Wes Lee however they were all advertised for the PPV.

No surprise appearances by any other talent from NXT or the main roster.

TNA seem to getting short changed out of their relationship

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,937 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

So far it looks that way alright and lots of talk that Jordynne Grace & Joe Hendry are both heading for the WWE once their contacts are up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Apart from the fact the final 2 were Kaz and Ziggler, I didn't mind what happened with Hendry. I said before that I didn't understand how Alexander went from being the longest(?) TNA champion, having well reviewed matches to taking the pin in tag matches to guys he would've beaten no problem before. So using the opportunity to turn heel by attacking the most over guy in the company was a good call. Especially, as you said, Hendry may be on his way out soon so why give him the title.

I assume that's what you mean by "read the room"?

The Ironman tonight between Nic and Josh so be a banger so should the Ultimate X match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Was trying to think of PCO's match. Could we have Abyss return?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

    Wasn't Abyss.

Random appearance at the end. I'm sure will hear more on Impact.

I'm assuming Wentz won't be putting the title on the line at No Mercy.

A vert solid show with the Ultimate X match being as good as expected and the Ironman being a little disappointing for me.

JBL now appearing at AAA, GCW & TNA in the space of a forthnight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Looks like Xia Li will be debuting soon.

Heather Reckless signed. Seeing her backstage with the others she looks tiny. Looked her up and she's apparently 4'9".

Arianna Grace is now the official liaison between TNA and NXT. They'll have to have a few father/daughter segments at some point. Though whether they acknowledge the relationship, I don't know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,937 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,324 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Well I got the answer to my question. Santino acknowledging Arianna is his daughter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,937 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Are the first cracks in the relationship with WWE starting to appear now.

The WWE filing a trademark opposition against TNA over the use of the name Santino Marella.
