Can we stop with the 65! The ref called that decision and not the umpire so no matter what the umpire did the ref still would have made the right call!

The umpire should of told him 'I didn't see it' and ref maybe would of decided 'throw ball'

So you are in favour of the officials bottling a big decision and making the correct call?

It WAS a 65. The 65 was given. The correct decision was made, why are people still discussing this.

Either way hard not to be sick watching the final, two teams we had the beating of and they are there and we are not

Congrats to Clare. Feel sorry for O’Flynn there at the end. Pity it ended with a miss rather than a score.
No reason we can’t have a good go at it next year with a new management team.

if an official is unsure about a 65 then he should tell the ref and the ref should do what the rule book says and throw the ball in on the 20m line…..we only know that the umpires guess was correct because of slow motion replays, there is no way that the ref had a good enough viewing position to over rule or make a call on it. …the umpire made a 50/50 call and got it correct but he hadn’t a clue in real time what to do…… if you watch the replay. He starts to make the wide ball movement with his arms and then 1/2 second into it switches to the 65 finger up signal…….a draw would have dumped out cork and Ave seen us trough but would we have made the final….and if we did could we have served up a game like today….unlikely. The main difference today was Tony Kelly…..cork have some very good players up front and all around the pitch but they don’t have a once in a generation type mercurial talent that Kelly is……his goal and point where he did the 180 won the game for them in the end……couldn’t understand why Duggan got subbed for shannaher maybe an injury or he ran out of steam but shannaher almost lost the game for them…….in any case without a manager and nothing likely emerging for a while plus playing the lower division in the league doesn’t bode well for next year. Will limerick still have the hunger for more titles or will they fade a bit. The cork lads will be mad keen and unfortunately have gained massively from this year. Tipp likely to be much the same and unless Clare go on the beer for the whole year getting out of Munster will be as tough as usual but always possible and with gleeson back you’d never know. Horgan is an example of how you can keep goin into mid 30’s and beyond…..will himself and harnedy now call it a day after today…..? Happy for Clare overall but ‘mad jealous’ in many way also but such is life and sport.

No that didn’t happen. Shamrocks have a few players after emigrating and Ballygunner have huge depth. One or two of those intermediates might feature for the seniors later in the season, but overall they wouldn’t be considered senior players.

Derek McGrath was shown on camera sitting on his own in the open stand at the double header in Walsh Park. He seemed more interested in his phone, although it was hard to blame him as that was during Abbeyside Ferrybank which was a one sided affair.

Exactly, wasn't a hard watch at all. Fantastic game and well done to the winners, and hard on the losers though I'm sure they've big days ahead

We had our chance.. Clare and Cork there on merit. We will have to wait for another generation

i agree, but i also know we were 2 or fewer points off both teams, the difference between not making it out of munster and being ai champs is razor thin

Anyone notice Jarlath Burns get one of his facts wrong in his speech said Tony Kelly the only ever player to win Young Player and Player of the year in one season? Obviously forgot about Ozzie in 16
