    you can’t guarantee same department, if you choose to reapply you’ll simply be put where the need is and will need to do an internal transfer

    OOM 963 with score of 563 for Dublin region. Is this a realistic score to possibly called for interviews depending on vacancies. Fact sheet provided lists me within top third for score. Thanks

    Hi, can anyone tell me the process please? I was thinking of just emailing public jobs to see if they could give me any information. So I am OOM in the 50s, will I have to wait until a vacancy in the 50s come up in my county and be called then for an interview for that vacancy? Sorry guys I'm probably confusing you all. It's my first time applying for the CO permanent competition. I'm a TCO at the minute.

    OOM 136 for Galway, Score 578. Currently a TCO in the DSP.

    For that competition I had OOM of 52 and that took almost a year to get an interview, but I got the job offer within a week of interview.

    It’s a long drawn out process.

    Interviews are called in batches and a panel is formed. If there are 10 vacancies they may call 30 or 40 in batch one and everyone who passes that interview is put on a panel with the top 10 being offered the vacancies.

    So say they call 40 for 10 vacancies and 30 pass... that is the panel... the top 10 get offered the vacancies and lest say they all accept.

    Then there are still 20 left on the panel for the next vacancies that come up. If that panel get exhausted and there are still more vacancies coming up during the life.if the panel then the next batch is called and so on.

    But if there is ever only 20 vacancies in total then the second 10 from the original batch is offered the spots and so on as they either accept or turn it down.

    HeY from the last time i applied I think the next step was to choose towns in my chosen county then next step was my interview

    They could call the first 50 or 100 for interview

    yes, you will need to go through the whole process to get a permanent CO position - you will have to pass the interview and references will be checked.

    As regards the query about applying for the CO when you are already a CO elsewhere - lots do this when the commute does not suit so nothing to really explain at interview as such.

    Anyone know why the panel is 12 months instead of 2 years? Whatever about getting through everyone on panel within a year for Dublin, don't think it would be the same for other counties

    Dont know.. Yeah dublin is always the best bet alright . Most offices offer blended so it suits lots of people from ajoining counties too I suppose ..

    I'm almost certain the previous competition was 12 or 13 months also. If competitions are running yearly it's probably reasonable to assume panel won't last much longer than that.

    Most likely so as not to have large numbers sitting on panels for positions that may never come up. Or to avoid the likelihood that some more vacancies come up close to rhebtwo year bracket and people have either lost interest or been promoted internally or gotten other jobs in the private sector.

    That would mean the vacancies couldn't be filled but a yearly panel ensures fresh candidates.

    Hi folks

    I'm new enough to all of this and have been doing a lot of reading up on the hiring process. Just back from a few days away and catching up on it now. I applied for Meath and received the below (edit:some figures given rough):

    Your Score: 555-580

    Qualifying Score: 280

    I'm in Category A (top third) which is a score of 555 or above. Average score is 501.

    I've been placed in position 105-130 on the OOM for Meath.

    Considering the amount hired in the last campaign for Meath, I'm thinking I shouldn't get my hopes up too much for anything to come of it?

    I think its difficult to know. Not everyone will take / pass the interview . Interviews will be called in batches ,but you might place very well within your interview batch ( if that makes sense) and not everyone will accept the job e.g might have gotten something else etc. The very best of luck with it anyway .

    I applied for this too - from reading the CO 2023 thread on Boards.ie it seems they extended the panel from 30 June 2024 to 27 September 2024 - does that mean they will only start calling the 2024 Dublin oom after 27 September? Also, sorry if a silly question - is the department you are assigned get randomly allocated or do PAS try to align with the details in your application? I got 200's oom in Dublin so if the 2023 panel is exhausted on 27 September is it fair to say they won't start looking at the 2024 applicants until after that date?

    After your interview you get a new OOM. When PAS gets to your OOM you need to get your references and vetting done and then you are randomly assigned . Dublin moves very fast usually as thats where most of the jobs are . I

    Hi all,

    I applied for the permanent co panels the last two years and I got in the 60's and 70's so didn't get an interview etc. Does anyone know if there will be temporary panels advertised this year?

    Has anyone any idea of when things would start moving from this campaign?

    I applied for the tco one in February and nothing has moved yet for the county. Is it always so slow?
