Feeling good, got my own back today my horse looked to be travelling so well but the heavy ground took its toll and there was nothing left but at least 5th meant we did not lose.

There is some talk that Hendersons horses are not quite right but I am still backing Dodderythegreat in the 2.50.I had this marked out as a very good bet for his chosen race so I will be on ew 6 places.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,706 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

The 4.10 race has been cancelled due to waterlogged course.

Cheltenham can be tough,we have too many bets and the Books get away with a bigger margin than usual, but still we love it.

Backing two tomorrow,Joseph Obriens Nurburgring looks fully exposed and may well be a drifter tomorrow with punters looking for less exposed types, however Nurburgring looks to be a tough type and will be hard to pass imo and looks a good ew bet in the first at 1.30,4 or more places available.

My 2nd bet is Faivoir in the 2.10,this horse runs well at Cheltenham is trained by Dan Skelton who is in great form, one issue is the fact that he ran a blinder at Sandown 6 days ago and another issue is that Harry Skelton rides the fav for the same yard,if the race does not come too soon Faivoir has a very chance and i will risk backing him at 10s or better 6 places.

Thanks, feeling very well now,was in town yesterday and popped into a PP shop and done a couple of bets and they proved to be a bit of a tonic so have a little bank for the start of the flat that I much prefer.

Backed another Mc Manus donkey there at 5/4, is it just me or are his horses that don't run at big festivals absolutely shite. Its one or the other with him. That horse there Wal Bucks at Hexham was piss poor. Go figure

Live score bet paying 7 places my 3 darts mahler mission, late night pass coko beach

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,723 ✭✭✭zimmermania

With the flat now getting into top gear i will start looking at the big saturday handicaps when extra places are the norm.

Tomorrow in Newbury the Spring cup takes place and PP go 6 places, the Lincoln form might be the way to go and i am backing Navagio ew 6 places with a smaller bet on Alpha Crucis who was 4th in that race has only 7 stone 10 to carry, the 2nd in that race,Lattam is not without a chance but we cant back them all but i might do a small rev forecast perm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,723 ✭✭✭zimmermania

The other big handicap tomorrow is the scottish champion hurdle 2.25 Ayr and the one i am backing is Afadil who has run two very good races in to handicaps and at 12 to1 4 places is the value bet with a good claimer up,if none the worse for a run 8 days this one will take beating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,259 ✭✭✭realdanbreen

Do you fancy anything in the Scottish grand national zim?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,723 ✭✭✭zimmermania

I backed My Silver Lining at 11 to1 online with Paddy 6 places,5 in the shops

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,320 ✭✭✭liamtech

Looking at 3:40 Punchestown - decided to throw a little each way on Catena Zapata - 16-1  Rachael Blackmore saddles up and i just cant resist a cheeky punt - 6 places on PP

6 places she's not without a chance. I'm going on sign from above with one of my favourite jockeys Sam Ewing aboard, around 18-1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,723 ✭✭✭zimmermania

Intinso looks the days best bet for me in the 3.oc Newmarket, has 2 furlongs more to travel today but should relish the extra distance.

I am certain a mark of 98 underestimates the horse a d with 4 places on offer,Gosdens training the horse and Holly on board at 11 to 2 this one demands a very decent bet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,723 ✭✭✭zimmermania

We should pay attention to the 2nd and 3rd as it was 8 lengths back to the 4th.

Holly set it up for the winner when trying to burn them all off from the start, the winner is a out and out stayer and the Gosdens got the tactics wrong.

We lost nothing a d backing the 2nd and particularly the 3rd will probably prove profitable.

At a loss today - woke up with a spring in my step and fancied throwing on some cheeky E/Ws but nothing immediately jumps out

Did a couple of longshot e/w, Halifax in Kempton 440, curtiz Windsor 6 .

I have backed Bernardo OReilly in his last couple of runs where he was running on strongly at the finish of his races but too late to get involved,it is 6 years since he has run off a mark as low as 77 (won off 78 6 years ago),he won off a mark of 83 last year and can get involved off 77 today.

Obviously not as good as he was but if there is a strong pace today in the 3.30 Ascot and he breaks on terms he could win as he often runs on strongly,he is a bit risky but the price is enticing and i have thrown €15 ew at 14s and he could finish up a bit higher.

Majestic has a very good chance in the 2.45 York,4th in this last year he is effectively 4 lbs better off with the claim of G Bass and is sure to go close, with 5 places on offer Majestic looks a bet ew

Same - a cheeky EW on this one! Thanks Zim

Currently perusing tomorrows races, looking for any obvious shouts

BERNARDOREILLY runs in the 7.50 at Doncaster after being a non-runner twice recently, despite the ground not being exactly as he wants it i put a few quid ew on at 17 to 2.

Currumbin 7.30 Leop has a decent ew chance after a good run last time and John Moran (who was 4s yesterday)is the value bet to be Mayor of Limerick at 15/8,i felt he would go off at odds on and may have done so except for supporters of, one in particular nohope candidate being backed into 5/4 fav at one stage in a vain attempt to give the impression there was a chance of success.

hot sprint at 3.35 York, its worth backing Imperial Guard at 20s 5 places who has a very handy weight 8 stone 5 lbs,ran well lto when finishing full of running in 3rd after being held up and then not having much room having to switch a couple of times.

The price is good and its worth taking a chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,723 ✭✭✭zimmermania

Best bet today for me is Breguet Boy 4.23 Newcastle, has decent form and the pilot is a good one in the context of todays race for amateurs, she likes to ride winners and knows exactly the score in the yard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,723 ✭✭✭zimmermania

best bet for me today is Prep School in the 3.20 Ripon, well handicapped and likes the ground.

For those who like a bet in the Super Sprint in Newbury today a high draw is essential.

Richard Hanson likes this race and his horses are worth a second look.

The one I like today is Kaadi and she should go close in this valuable sprint.

happy enough, main bet Prep School battled well to win and Kaadi ran well to show a profit so a good day.

a couple of ew fancies today.

Rory 6.23 Muss 15/2 can improve again and Andyourbirdcansing 6.23 Ballinrobe 11/2 seems to be on the up and can go well in this rated race.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,320 ✭✭✭liamtech

Great tips Zim - always appreciated! only realized this minute that Rory won & Andyourbird placed!

Forever Noah has first run on turf today after a gelding operation worth an ew bet at 5s Roger Varian would hardly keep it if not much use and worth an ew bet today in the 4.50 Lingfield.

At a very big price 25/1 Majestic Wave could be ew value in the 4.45 Naas dropping back a furlong and may surprise those who expect a poor run thinking that a quiet 3rd run to get handicapped is on the cards.Well worth a small bet today and I believe the well bred colt will go well today.

LIngfield seems to have been called off. They only had two races.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,960 ✭✭✭Cherry_Cola

Lingfield still going, just SP betting on Paddy and Skybet due to some rights issues.

big handicap on sat is the 3oc in Ascot worth150,000 pounds run over 7 furlongs.

It’s not easy to win at that trip from a low draw so only those drawn in double figures should be considered especially if they have form over 7 furlongs at the course.

Bless Him 18/1,Billyjoh 11/1,Fresh 10/1 and Aalto 10/1,are 4 with chances who should run well,I may try forecasts and tricasts for small money and I will use them in a placepot punt.
