Ah lad you need to sort this audio issue get the dealer to sort it’s not software as I have audio as do loads of others, must be a setting somewhere. best of luck with it.

Said they wanted car for a full day to fix it so too much hassle. It's a software issue as I get navigation audio if I have google assistant active at time of audio command. Imagine they were going to fully reload software. Unless upgrade fixes it I will wait until first service

  • Registered Users Posts: 150 ✭✭Sealman

Loads of us do not have it as well. Grumpygit is by no means the only one. It is a software issue and I would say a day at MSL would definitely be a day wasted in my opinion

Agreed. Waste of time. Knowledge is nowhere near good enough with these guys yet. So there’s the missing audio for some and the digital key issue too. All of us on same software. It’s bloody weird

  • Registered Users Posts: 25 EFX

Well to be fair if you don’t let them try you can’t say they can’t do it, they should give /offer you a loan car for the day in my opinion.

at present they’re charging €40 for loan car…

  • Registered Users Posts: 150 ✭✭Sealman

I have no confidence in them doing anything but in any case I am in Galway and they are in Dublin so what good would a loan car be to me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,226 ✭✭✭RainInSummer

I had my Seal in for a day in Enniscorthy for a ticking noise in the aircon when it's set to heat. Got a loaner for the day, no questions.

I think we all knew that not all dealers are created equal in fairness though.

That's why I am hoping to build up a relationship with BYD Limerick when they get more established

Think we have gone past the days of the mechanic being able to fix everything. The local guys have no access to the software code and are dependent on software fixes coming from china. I'd say all they can do at the moment is reload the software or wait for a software patch whenever the supplier gives them one. Probably a limit to the amount of loan cars they have, would be better being given a specific time period within which they can fix it rather than leaving it in for the day to be put in a queue to be fixed

Digital key isn't an issue, Samsung don't support it. Samsung wallet is not in Ireland so unless you have an iPhone you won't be able to use it.

FYI the same is with the Hyundai EV9. Digital key is Samsung wallet too. Samsung don't operate wallet in Ireland.

It's not a clitch it's just not operational here.

I'm not too concerned tbh. Have the key or the car there but I use the key always as my house keys are attached to it..

It is nothing to do with Samsung not supporting. It is an issue with some vehicles not showing the Digital Key as an option; some owners here with IOS have no digital key. And they are on latest update also.

Like you, I have it, but will likely never use it as house & car keys are always with me.

Tbh that's just a feature set on the account. Guarantee an email to byd support would activate it. Seems to be batches of them turned on. Not a bug like the nav sound.

Also everything to do with Samsung it doesn't work its also the only supported option on those devices. So square peg round hole.

Google Pixel is supported, but the car is not enabled for me, for some reason. Have queried with the dealer

Not mad on the front roof wart. Rear one doesn't bother me as it looks like your average shark fin aerial.

    Interior not bad.

I like the idea behind the new wheels. The existing ones come to a decent brake set up and hides them away.

Front roof blob reminds me of the older STi Spec C roof vents, but they had a purpose. I’d assume some engineer has wind tunnelled this and sees an advantage. Rear shark fin is grand. I’ve grown to accept them from all the bmw I’ve had.

    Overall a nice facelift.

The front ‘wart’ is for the optional LiDAR. Probably doesn’t affect aero too much.

1.2.1 landed for me earlier. FCTB improvements apparently.

Looks ridiculous. Poorly executed IMO. Destroys an otherwise slick profile.

Was hoping they’d have fixed the parking sensor volume with this release also. Looks like we will have to wait a little longer.

Changing cruise control in 1km increments:

I think this came with the latest (1.2.1) update, but either way for anyone who doesn’t know how to, see as follows: As before, you can change cruise control in 5km increments by pushing the rocker switch up or down as needed. However, if you hold the rocker switch up or down, the speed adjusts in 1km increments. Then just release the switch when the display shows the speed you want to set.

The update notes didn’t show this, and there has been many features added or improved with each update, which were not mentioned on the update notes. Anyone know where we can find a list of all changes that come with each update?

That's weirdly implemented. I can see why they did it but really counter intuitive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,669 ✭✭✭yllw.ldbttr

Still no digital key enabled in the car for me, which is a bit annoying.

Emailed BYD and the dealer but nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,050 ✭✭✭✭dodzy

did you try a restore to factory settings and see how that pans out? Not sure if it reverts to original SW version but if it I did, I’d say a prompt to update to latest would follow. Might trigger something. Long shot I know.

On another note, what is the first service interval ? Mine is set to 10k as far as I recall and I’m closing in on that now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 150 ✭✭Sealman

Supposed to be 1 year or 20000 km which ever comes first

  • Registered Users Posts: 35 steak_and_red

Speaking of which, I know there’s a list of what’s included in the service (or an image?) but can’t find it anywhere. If somebody has it handy could you please repost? Keen to see the (undoubtedly vague) wording about the paint.

7 Months in and found I have gone from initially sport-mode (i mean why not) to standard-mode and now find eco-mode to be the smoothest drive in terms of less jerkiness etc. Anyone else feel the same…I know some people here will say jerky due to driver behaviour blah blah but since the 1203 update Eco-mode has upped its game. Have to say still love the car and strangely looking forward to the dark nights as I like the look of the back lights in the dark.
