Hi I have used clickcoal.com. I brought half ton of Hi Lite. Which should be £280. But I paid £250 by ordering 25 of the 1 bag.

Click coal is run my the star fuel company who work in partnership with LLC Coal group

quick delivery to me in Lancashire.

The only problem i had ask if the order had been sent and I was never informed when the order was due to be delivered.

The wagon just turn up without any warning.

The pallet was well wrapped and thry used a good strong pallet.

The Hi Lite is easy to light.

It would be better if they make a large size.

    medium heat output

slow burning compared to other smokeless coal

Medium ash left behind with no hard bits The ash kept hot in the metal bin for over 72 hours in the end I had to tip the ash out of the bin on to the drive and mix water with it to cool the ash down, a messy job, so I could put the ash in the plastic council bin

same offer was £440 this time last year. Good heat from it. Some ash and small little bits left behind. Tiny little balls in the ashtray along with ash. I ordered lunchtime Tuesday. Coal delivered 10am the next morning to Kilkenny.

    Any opinions on https://coaldirectireland.com/shop/colombian-coal/

£460 a tonne delivered seems OK, providing the quality is OK…

    TIA

Got it last year and unless get better offer, will get it again. Good heat and nice flame. Used in open fire. Found it left a good bit behind is only down side. This is comparing it to the eco glow I got the year before. The heat made up for this though. Delivery was about a week and dropped on driveway with motorised pallet truck.

Has anyone bought the above? Was thinking of buying it but have a choice of ovoids, country blend or stove coal and not sure what's best, have seen on FB people saying the oviods were best but not sure if being used in a stove or open fire, anyone any feedback?

I'm a long term customer of CW since 2015 and have always bought the oviods from them. Apart from 1 wet shipment which they rectified. I am happy to say their coal is good and doesn't leave a lot of ash.

Others further up in the thread have mentioned issues in the last year. My last order was a panic buy of a ton for €420 in March 2022. It will hopefully see me through the coming winter and maybe prices will have dropped to 2021 levels at that stage.

My experience of the following coals so far used in large boiler stove:

    1. Tigerlady (anthracite and calco mix) good heat, long lasting, low ash but really hard to light, plenty hot water and lots of clinkers left over
    2. Glolite, great heat and medium lasting, medium ash, plenty of hot water and no clinkers left over
    3. Ecostove, long lasting, poor heat, hard to light, no clinkers, poor to heat boiler and lots of ash
    4. Calco mix (lignite and calco) hight heat, easy to light, lowest ash, medium lasting, lots of hot water but awful smell from the smoke
    5. Surelite, good heat, medium lasting, medium ash, heats water and no clinkers
    6. Anthracite (grade A), hard to light, low ash, long lasting, lots of hot water and some clinkers

Bought esse nuts this year from click coal @750 and surelite @500 from Dandy's including delivery.

Can anyone comment on differences between Eco Glow (green bags) & the more expensive Eco Stove (red bags) ? I used Eco Stove last year & it was good but the Eco Glow is cheaper & has good reviews.

  • Registered Users Posts: 140 ✭✭Lancashire-lad

Hi used ECO glow green bags last year. On my stove, and a open fire. I use manufactured smokeless coal to make the fire on our stove . Once the smokeless coal was burning I add large Welsh anthicate. Which what I normal burn on the stove but it hard work to make a fire with it

I found after burning Eco glow on the Stove, I had to clean the Glass. The smokeless coal express websites. Say ECO stove is clean burning.

On the smokeless coal express websites Eco glow is €519 and ECO stove is €549 for 50 x 20kg including delivery.

I've had a tonne of Eco Stove in already from that website thanks to Lanchashire Lad pointing them out up thread.

But next delivery in January I think I'll give Surelite a go. The price is similar but it sounds like Surelite will be worth a sustained trial run.

The glass regularly needs a clean with Eco Stove.
