Tried the Fierce Mild from ALDI this evening. It’s surprisingly good. I’m picky about NA beers. I think a lot aren’t great.

This is up there with Schneider Weiss Alcohol Free and Guinness 0.0 for me.

    Heineken 0.0 (even though I don't drink normal Heineken)…

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Any of the mainstream 0 beers are good. Corona. Heineken, carlsberg etc.

Foxes rock non-alco is my preferred non-alco beer. Its 40 calories compared to 85 cals for a Guinness 0.0 and +100 cals for some other beers.

Nothing I’ve tried has been as good as the Erdinger Alkoholfrei.

However, will give a nod to Free Damm for the fact its Gluten Free as well as zero booze as my OH is a coeliac.

erdinger is really good - and apparently very good for post-exercise tonic too - as a weissbier, it has lots of minerals and good stuff in it, much better than any of the so called sports or energy drinks

Talking of Erdingsr, the Erdinger Bauhaus Radler is lovely. Haven’t had many radlers over the past while but it’s I’ve if the best I’ve come across personally speaking.

Former colleague of mine was pulled for driving erratically after an evening on Becks Blue, surrounded by people who were drinking full alcohol products. Blew clear, as expected; the shock of being pulled dealt with the placebo pissed level.

People who think they're drunk act as though they are.

maybe it's because i don't drink ipas, but someone in the booze alert thread in bargains recommended this and it is very good - doesn't really have that metallicy taste that a lot of na beers do.

    BREWMASTER NON-ALCOHOLIC IPA 24 X 440ML (Case) – Dundalk Bay Brewery & Distillery

(i got one can to try from Aldi but not sure it's in stock now as not listed on aldi website looks like)

I've tried many of the beers mentioned above. Feel like generally the standard has jumped in recent years.

Worth mentioning Lucky Saint as a bit of a stand-out, both the lager and their hazy IPA. Pricy but I was impressed.

My other default is Guinness 0.0, for the convincing aroma and visuals. I wish there were more similar NA stouts.

I never do "dry January" but I'm doing it this year. It's been interesting. My sleep is deeper, which I expected, and I'm fresher in the mornings… But I think I had over ambitious expectations about other feelings of general wellbeing. My joints still hurt as normal, I think I was blaming drinking for some of that (Inflammation). Anyway, no… I'm just an old bastard with a lot of miles on.
