Hi everyone, hope someone can help me out please. We had a plumber fit new taps to an old bath and since then then P Trap Under has been leaking. Perhaps he damaged this when installing the new taps. Ive tried to get him back but no luck so will attempt to fix this myself with little plumbing experience. I bought another P trap but it does not line up properly and struggling to get a similar P trap. Anyone advice what I can buy to fix this and where? Thank you, attachments of the issue are below. Gareth

Any help would be great, or advice - do I need a new washer, replace parts or the whole P TRAP, add a new flexi tube etc and if so, where is best to get these parts, thank you, Gareth

Where exactly is the leak coming from?

There is no washer in the connection point to the bath at the top of the pipe on the right. Also, the ridges on this connection are partially broken. The leaks are coming from this opening point.

When you say 'ridges' do you mean threads? Did you try a plumbers suppliers for a replacement?

yes, the top of the thread is broken. I tried loads of web sites for the exact p trap but there does not seem to be any the exact size

I bought a new p trap in chadwicks but it did not line up properly. There seems to be p traps the right size but they have no overflow connections

best option is too change the entire waste kit & overflow kit on the bath as well as the trap it’s self.easy enough fix

Loosen it and put some liquid cement on it and squeeze it back u, it might sort it

There doesnt seem to be one though where the pipes in the pictures above will match up size wise

with liquid cement id be afraid to maybe block the pipe!

You'd have to put it in the pipe to do that, liquid cement is a glue used by plumbers to glue pipes together, just put it on the threads of the pipe and you'll be fine

super, thank you baxterooneydoody, will give that a try. Is there also any specific washer I could insert?

The washer should be on the fitting, if not I'd use tech 7 liberally to form a water tight seal,
