Listening to Old Fart music on my new wireless headphones. S'good s 😊

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,532 ✭✭✭thomil

What headphones did you get, Sardi? Looking for a new set of cans here myself.

Homeside here, in probably the deepest hole I’ve ever been in. That new role is just wearing me down like nothing else before, to the point where I’m physically unwell. Got an appointment with my GP on Tuesday, earliest I could get, because I just can’t continue like this…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

    @thomil

Sony headphones, reduced to a really good price at a local music/electrical shop. Best pair I've ever had.

Sorry to hear you're in a tough spot. Seeing the gp is a goos step. Hope it helps toward a resolution.

I have been in that position, buddy and I promised myself no matter what I would never let myself get to that point again.

You really need to speak to somebody. Have you a friend or colleague thar you trust?

Yes, it's freezing cold for August.

Got some pain au chocolate in Lidl. And having that + ( porridge + pear + yogurt ) + coffee for breakfast and looking out at the rain.

    ffs google.
just seen a spam mail from Wednesday that informs me my gmail storage is full and all mail sent to me since then has been bounced back to sender.

I’ve been on the job hunt all week and potentially getting responses that are being sent back to them… that looks flipping fab on my end now..

Dry and sunny in Cork but it's chilly and windy. I'm sitting in a hotel foyer people watching and just realised I've lost my glasses ffs...absolutely squinting at my phone here.

I’ve been there as well. Cost me my job at Apple, and I definitely do not want to repeat that experience. Unfortunately, the only person I’d feel comfortable enough with to fully open up is currently back on the continent with their parents. I definitely want to start seeing a therapist about the whole thing, but my first step is to talk to a GP and figure out if my actual physical symptoms are actually related to the ongoing stress. Correlation does not automatically equal causation.

On the bright side, I do seem to have some energy left inside me. I just booked the flights for my Norway cruise in November.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Lola the rescue dog is great. Only vice she has is barking at other dogs out the window. She's nearly taken the blinds down a few times trying to get out the window 😬 Apart from that she's deadly.

She's not as photogenic as Blue

You can see here the window and blinds

It's completeky Baltic for this time of year. 🥶🥶🥶

Seriously thinking of prematurely changing my duvet to the thick Winter one. 🛌

@thomil - thinking of you with your work stress issues. It's horrible. Please do go to your GP to refer you to good supports.

You sound very self aware which is a major bonus. You probably have very good intuition and gut feeling ability so never ignore it.

If the job is causing you the physical symptoms, remember you are only a number in any job.

Maybe reach out to your friend by text and just say you're going through a sh1t time and ccould you keep in touch while they're away.

Keep up your exercise routine and get as much fresh air as possible.

I'm done with popular outdoor concerts unless I can get a pair of Coldplay tickets standing at face value in dry/calm weather. Also, a nice room in the Westbury. 😁

I'll definitely be getting a ticket for Oasis.

My own teenager loves their music too so I'd love to do a concert with just me and him.

    Intergenerational music vibes!

I remember the fake Blur versus Oasis shyte well, fierce amusing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,391 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

    I never liked Blur.

My teenage music taste was U2, Oasis, Alanis, The Cranberries and The Corrs.

    Fairly tame.

I was a teenager at A Different Time™, I was into Prog. rock, but I could be relied upon to throw shapes on the dance floor to quality pop music!
