Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ref probably could have blown up for a head injury, maybe he didn't see the contact.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,557 ✭✭✭✭CSF

I think ultimately, he did a silly thing, the ref saw it, and everything else that’s been dominating the conversation around it is window dressing.

He 100% intentionally did the thing that he was given the yellow and sent off for.

    So poor from Mainoo

    0-3

Easy stuff for the Reds today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,403 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

So it turns out keeping a manager because you scalded a Cup game with 25% possession wasn't such a good idea…SHOCKED

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,084 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Mainoo can't blame Casemiro this time.

Salah does it again, he loves scoring at OT.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,716 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    Absolutely purring now

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,246 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

That really should have been 4-0

    Alot of Boos there too.

Liverpool could do fair damage if they keep it up.

Utd could have a new manager this time tomorrow. Van Nistelrooy sitting there waiting for it.

    Regards,

    P.

As a rival of Utd’s I’m glad their suporters love Mainoo and Martinez.

    Orange card right there

  • Registered Users Posts: 281 ✭✭IrishOwl...

Jasus that's terrible challenge from De Ligt

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,246 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

ETH taking off Garnacho but leaving on Rashford - justifiably getting the boos from the home crowd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 360 ✭✭Patrick Mahomes

Mainoo isn’t all that he definitely os not the saviour of utd and Englands midfield.

    Regards,

    P.

Amad showing he didn't deserve to be dropped.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,880 ✭✭✭✭klose

At 19 he shouldn’t have to be, such is the mess united are in they’re over reliant on him which is nonsense for a young fella

  • Registered Users Posts: 281 ✭✭IrishOwl...

    Dreadful from Szobzalai there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,716 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    Forgot Fernandes was playing

    Waste of space

Fernandes really is just toxic with his body language it really must annoy his teammates.

Not a pen there for me

Class from Salah in the buildup

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,084 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I'm sorry but picking Luis Diaz as MOTM is a very bad decision, IMO.

    Gravenberch should have got it.

Light work, surprisingly smooth start to the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Liverpool are 6 pts and 10 goals better off than Man Utd after just 3 games, and 2 of Liverpool’s games were away from home.

Neville reckons Ten Hagg will be given plenty of time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 281 ✭✭IrishOwl...

6 points and 10 goals you can't see that UTD team claw back either. Even if there's still 35 games to go!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,084 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Would be fair to give it to Salah alright. I would give it to Gravenberch just cos if how much Liverpool dominated midfield.

Salah has scored in 7 games in a row now against Man United. This is a nice stat for him

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,246 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Hopefully. He isn't good enough and has proven that time and time again I think.

    Lots of problems at United.

It's actually mind boggling the money UTD have spent the last few windows and there still no cohesion to the team. What do they be working on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 360 ✭✭Patrick Mahomes

Ten Hagg isn’t the only problem at Utd the player culture there just seems to be horrible and lead by Fernandes, If there is a clear out to happen I’d have him out with the manager.

    P.

Salah just said it is his last year at the club

The look Keane gave to Sturridge following his little rap was priceless.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,246 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

He then said no one has come to talk to me about a new contract.

    'We will see'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 360 ✭✭Patrick Mahomes

Salah now saying the club haven’t even talked to him. Wow that is just mad from Liverpool.

    Regards,

    P.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,792 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

Sturridge thinks it's 1995 and he's interviewing Biggy MTV!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,507 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

Didn't think they could find a pundit more annoying than Micah, bro

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 360 ✭✭Patrick Mahomes

Slot is very Dutch with his straight talking and not afraid to say individual players have made mistakes in the game.

    Regards,

    P.

Slot spoke very well there. Impressive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,792 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

Terrible, to be honest It's hard to find a good one these days. Rio and Cole on BT are so bad it's almost comical.

Roy is funny and quick, but he's quite limited when discussing the tactical side of things. Slot was actually talking about some good, genuine insights into the tactical nous and decision making required in these big games. And the 2 lads just stood there and didn't engage with it at all.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,246 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

He has a very clear idea of what he wants.

The players have understood it and are applying it from the very first game.

    He comes across well.

3 wins and 3 clean sheets.

    Can't do anymore than that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,634 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

The likes of Sky and BT are not interested in insight and decision making, they are appealing to the likes of Big Nev in Wigan who only probably has had a few cans watching th game, and only understands 'get stuck in' and 'feed it into the mixer'. They want simple soundbites, and all the better if the pundits either say something really dumb or controversial that can go viral, or follow the scripted prepared talking points that were prepared last week during the production meeting.

Turn off the tv after the game is my advice,.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 360 ✭✭Patrick Mahomes

Sky and BT just want clickbate clips for social media from the highly paid analysts and pundits they actually don’t want proper analysis of a game.

    Regards,

    P.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,792 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

I usually do. But I missed the first and I was waiting for the goals.

Totally agree, Sky, BT and the likes are the pits.

Slot with an excellent insight into his tactical thinking then you have keane say "ye just got the ball and went for it".

Really shows keane has no managerial ability.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,288 ✭✭✭✭rob316

It's possible, the sporting staff are barely in the door but there is alot of playing with the media in contract stand offs like this, so I would take it with a pinch of salt.

If they haven't approached him it needs to be done straight away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,984 ✭✭✭ebbsy

Re Casamiro it just shows that the Madrids and the Bayerns do not let go of their best players until they are past it.

What United have done to the likes of Sancho and Rashford is also amazing, but not in a good way.

Bert and Ernie would be give you more insight than Keane and Sturridge.

    Terrible analysis

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,976 ✭✭✭doc_17

That podcast with Neville, Carragher, Wright is horrific stuff. It should be better, but the “banter” is wretched stuff.
