Good luck to anyone else running this tomorrow. I'm running Tullamore for the first time as a prep race for the Dublin Marathon, looking to see where I'm at before the next block of training. Aiming for around 1.26 tomorrow and high 2.50s at Dublin.

I've heard its a fast course but any insider tips welcome…. :)

Good luck, yep mostly flat with rolling hills, there is a sneaky 500 metre medium climb at the last 2km otherwise all good, best of luck

It is a fast course but it's certainly not flat. You'll need to pace yourself from miles 3-6 which is pretty much a constant uphill drag. The second half of the course is mainly downhill or flat so there's time to be gained there. It's definitely one for a negative split. I've done it the last two years and would highly recommend it. Weather looks promising too.

Yep that's a better description TBF, I've done it 3 times but I'm a slow and fat runner 😂

Well done to everyone who did this today.

I thought the race was really well organised, so hats off to Tullamore AC and all the volunteers! The weather was also brilliant which helped…

As a first timer, I would definitely rate this as a fast course, with plenty of straight and relatively flat sections where you can get into a good rhythm. Finishing on the track is also great.

Will definitely be entering again next year!

Definitely agree with the organization, really well run event. Was weird to be back in "the harriers", last time I was there was 20 years ago for a disco!

Not sure if I'd be as positive about the weather! It was glorious weather but very very warm. I really struggled towards the end.

Good few people struggling after the finish line with I assume heat related issues, including a few stretchered off but in fairness the first aid crew seemed to be well on top of it.

Did the half marathon myself. Well organised event. Lovely course. Have ran it a few times over the last few years. I agree with you about the weather. It was a glorious day but not for running. A lot of people seemed to be walking a couple of miles out from the finish line. Looked to be struggling with the heat

Very good event, top notch organisation as always with Tullamore Harriers. Decent support on the course in places too which you wouldn't necessarily expect in a half marathon on some rural roads. The stretch from the last roundabout back to the Harriers stadium is always longer than you'd think 😋 Very decent selection of cakes afterwards and the goody bag seems reasonably useful, a headtorch and a waterbottle

That lap of the stadium feels bloody long 😩
