    Nothing……

no contact been received after interview, which was held almost 2 weeks ago now. I imagine they will ratify and process us in blocks of yay/nay and then email everyone at once, so when 1 of us gets a message we all will hopefully.

Nice one! Does it give an order of merit or just successful/unsuccessful message and next steps?

it gives OOM. You then have to wait to be contacted about medical and vetting (stage 3) from the GS.

Best of luck to all - Hope to see you in Templemore some day! This thread has been hugely beneficial.

how do you mean before your interview your OOM was 66 and after completing your interview you got 183 OOm

  • Registered Users Posts: 3 red850

Got my email! I am well pleased with the outcome and grades for each of the competencies. I achieved between 100-130 for the interview OOM (don't want to be to specific!) all good so far for most of us posting here hopefully! now onwards to the extensive vetting form to be filled!

Got mine too , between 160 to 190,not sure what that means,is that too high, will that be low enough to get in now or will I have to wait until next year.

Got mine as well, just under the 150 mark. Next step is the clearance form, which will take a little bit of time. I didn't see a deadline date unless I missed it? I still have the form from 2007, so that will help, although I see additional info needed, such as middle names for extended family members.

  • Registered Users Posts: 268 ✭✭gailgo

    hey Delly

What form are you referring to where did you get this form. When did they sent to you

It's a link to a form in the interview results message.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 gibsondoyle

Middle Names aren't mandatory for extended family members

Anyone have trouble with filling out the vetting form, nothing is saved when I hit the save form and then it is asking me to log in or create an account, when I try to create an account it goes blank, any info appreciated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 gibsondoyle

I experienced the same. Very annoying.

I managed to complete it all in one go during a 4 hour sitting in the end.

  • Registered Users Posts: 479 ✭✭jopax

When you finished it, did it save okay for you?

Did you create an account first?, I'm just wondering can I complete it without an account.

It won't leave me create an account

    TIA

  • Registered Users Posts: 172 ✭✭Picky owner

Thanks for the info, was wondering what to do alright,do you know when the deadline is,it's all very vague..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 gibsondoyle

Yep, it gives you an opportunity to submit at the end and then sends you email confirmation.

  • Registered Users Posts: 479 ✭✭jopax

    Perfect, thanks for that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭popsmoke

Well, can I just clarify, Your vetting is for the reserve GS, not full time GS. The reason I ask is I got my OOM ( for reserves)but no link for vetting. I had to send an additional document about my education, which I did. I was told then I will be contacted soon by AGS for vetting.

I have been wondering the same thing I got my OOM and no link for the vetting I emailed them and I was told the AGS would be in contact soon with me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 gibsondoyle

Yes, my vetting is for the Garda Reserve. Strange that your experience is different 🤔

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭popsmoke

Cheers. Ill see what happens tomorrow. Might give them another buzz.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 gibsondoyle

If anybody is reaching out, any chance you could tag on a deadline question? I'll be asking myself when I get my ducks in a row, I'll also be asking about the affidavit, I mean are we talking full solicitor doc and PC signing? Not being able to know my grandparents middle names alone qualifys for that and I think they just missed the 1911 census.

In all fairness, why do they need to check someone's middle name for someone who was born over 100 years ago and is probably deceased,I know they have to vet people but the level of detail they are looking for is bordering on the ridiculous, partner's aunt/uncles etc.

If you come from a large family it is some detail to get through, and no mention of a deadline either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 gibsondoyle

I went through this process back in 2017 when I backed out of the competition.

Complete the form to the best of your ability and if any affidavits etc. are required, they'll email you when reviewing it. They're very reasonable. It's unlikely anybody will get it right first time around given the amount of detail required.

In regard to grandparents middle names, I listed them as unknown and put the reason as deceased.

  • Registered Users Posts: 172 ✭✭Picky owner

Thanks for that,it is daunting alright, all I can do is fill it out the best I can.

Anyone contacted gardareserve@garda.ie at all? Emailed them last Friday about the vetting, but no response yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭popsmoke

I emailed again today. Asked why some have got the link for vetting and others have not. No reply.

I suspect we're gonna be in for a long wait at this stage of the competition based on historical threads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭popsmoke

I'm hoping this process will be smoother. So far they are staying on track, so fingers crossed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 268 ✭✭gailgo

does anyone know when they are taking in the first batch for training

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 gibsondoyle

No idea. I've just seen in older threads that it takes months (in some cases years) for them to conclude your vetting before you'll be invited to a medical, followed by training (assuming your medical is a success) 🫣

  • Registered Users Posts: 479 ✭✭jopax

    Popsmoke

I can't understand why you haven't got the link for the vetting form.

What did you get? Just a breakdown of the interviews results, then what was it just one paragraph or a few paragraphs?

It just seems very odd, it must be an oversight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭popsmoke

Ya its a funny one. It just gave me a breakdown of the interview. OOM below 90. They said the AGS will be in contact about vetting and medical. When I emailed again to check, they said the AGS would be in contact soon. I wonder is there others that didn't get the vetting link.

  • Registered Users Posts: 479 ✭✭jopax

I got that also, but 2 paragraphs before that it gives the link and the faq's, are you missing that?

My OOM was more than double what you got, so there is definitely some mistake there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭popsmoke

Ya missing that part. I'll email them again tomorrow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 479 ✭✭jopax

Hopefully you'll get it sorted soon popsmoke, let us know when you do.
