Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i do worry for Ferguson. He appears to have been injured/unfit for about a year. He could do with a proper rest instead of all these unsuccesful half fit cameos hes been having.

Why not gamble and bring on Ebosle rather than Doherty? We're chasing the game and Doherty has proven he offers f**k all to this team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,500 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Doherty on ffs. Half expecting him to pull Hendricks from the crowd for a run.

Unfortunately no midfield. Sadly no other options out there either. We are the definition of a ‘minnow’ team now, hard to take but everyone, and I mean everyone would fancy a go at Ireland. Looking at you San Marino 🙄

Don't see us getting anything here

We look absolute dog sh!t since Greece scored. Greece passing around between their backline in their own half and we're not closing down but rather sitting deep. Was hoping for a new manager bounce with a spirited performance over these two games, but this is dire.

Doherty knows where the goal is........but not the Irish goal which has been a problem for him.

We seem to be still sitting back a lot. We are at home. Lets put them under pressure.

Thats been the biggest disappointment in these 2 games. We seen to have little fight in us. It feels like we are away from home. Just letting the opposition have the ball.

I thought Hallgrimson called it right after England. We looked like we didnt believe we could win but we look the same in this game. Only Ogbene and Szmodics look like they believe.

    Smallbone completely asleep

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,151 ✭✭✭letowski

Look vulnerable now, both Browne and Smallbone are knackered in midfield and Ferguson is not fit. Maybe Ogbene or Szmodics might create something, but not optimistic.

I'm not judging him on these two games as he's just back from injury but for me he's a flash in the pan, good in one game and then anonymous in the games immediately afterwards.

That pass from McAteer is about the first incisive thing an Irish player has done all night. The touch from Smallbone just sums up the difference between the 2 teams

Don't get why parrott gets no minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,500 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

    I’m

He needs to get himself involved in games. He played loads of games for Brighton in 2nd half of last season where he barely touched the ball. Zero touches against England the other night and not much of note tonight

Brady and the ref are related

My god this has been painful to watch

Yes thats baffling to be honest. The 2 players trying to make things happen get subbed and of course we concede then again

3 defeats in a row to Greece including two at home.

I had high hopes when Collins broke through at Stoke and then did well at Burnley, but christ he is an absolutely awful defender. Move him to midfield just to get him away from that backline.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

So so easy for that goal. Doherty went awol.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,500 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

We are getting relegated to Group C. That's our level to be honest.

  • Registered Users Posts: 699 ✭✭✭rodders999

    Doherty just strolling back, pathetic.

    Doherty…..ffs

Kenny out. Mick wouldn’t have lost etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,485 ✭✭✭omerin

2 games 4 goals conceded. Did we have 4 shots on target in those 2 games?

Greeks have a bit about them when you let them play.

We have nothing about us even when they let us play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,563 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Whatever the question is, Doherty isn't the answer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,232 ✭✭✭TheRiverman

    The horror show continues.

  • Registered Users Posts: 497 ✭✭The HorsesMouth

Look at Doherty for that goal. Absolute disgrace...he jogged back and if he even tried to sprint he would have got back to make a tackle but he didn't bother. And he's only on the pitch! How anyone continues to look at him in an Ireland jersey is beyond me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 173 ✭✭Seneca the Stoic

They’re mostly good lads and triers (apart from possibly Doherty) but by God they are limited.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,937 ✭✭✭omega man

they’ll be playing group C home matches in tallaght soon enough

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,793 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Finland has become a must-win now. I really don't think we want to get relegated to Group C, I wouldn't be confident of our chances of getting out of it.

Yep. It will be an absolutely deserved relegation because we are not in the stop half of European football teams anymore.

And of course the usual English tabloid reading Irish fans will scream and cry about sacking another manager and bringing in an "Allerdyce type" and won't lift a single finger to try find out why we are so ****.
