    Failed or Defunct Businesses

Trump has had his share of failed ventures over the years, and some of them resulted in significant financial losses, legal troubles, or bankruptcy filings. Here are some of the most notable business failures:

    1. Trump University (2005-2010)

    • What it was: A for-profit education program offering courses in real estate and entrepreneurship.
    • Failure: The program was accused of fraud, resulting in multiple lawsuits. Trump eventually settled a class-action lawsuit for $25 million in 2016.

    2. Trump Steaks (2007-2008)

    • What it was: Premium beef steaks sold through The Sharper Image and other retailers.
    • Failure: The product did not sell well and was discontinued after about two months.

    3. Trump Vodka (2006-2011)

    • What it was: A luxury vodka brand that was marketed as "success distilled."
    • Failure: The brand failed to gain traction, and production stopped after a few years.

    4. Trump Airlines (1989-1992)

    • What it was: A luxury shuttle service between New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C., purchased from Eastern Air Lines.
    • Failure: Despite high expectations, the airline was unable to make a profit and was sold to USAir.

    5. Trump Mortgage (2006-2007)

    • What it was: A mortgage company launched just before the housing market crash.
    • Failure: The company folded within a year due to poor timing and a lack of business.

    6. Trump Casinos (Atlantic City, NJ)

    • Trump Taj Mahal (1990-2016): Once billed as the "eighth wonder of the world," the casino struggled with debt for years and went through multiple bankruptcies before being sold and rebranded as a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
    • Trump Plaza (1984-2014): Closed due to financial difficulties.
    • Trump Marina (1985-2011): Sold and rebranded.
    • Trump World's Fair Casino (1996-1999): Closed and demolished after failing to perform financially.

    7. Trump Magazine (2007-2009)

    • What it was: A luxury lifestyle magazine targeting affluent readers.
    • Failure: The magazine folded after a few years due to the financial crisis and lack of advertisers.

    8. Trump Network (2009-2012)

    • What it was: A multi-level marketing company selling health and wellness products.
    • Failure: Despite high hopes, the company did not succeed and was sold off in 2012.

    9. GoTrump.com (2006-2007)

    • What it was: A travel website aimed at competing with Expedia and Travelocity.
    • Failure: The site shut down after only a year of operations due to poor sales.

    10. Trump the Game (1989 & 2004)

    • What it was: A Monopoly-like board game.
    • Failure: It was unsuccessful both times it was launched, failing to capture widespread interest.

    11. Trump Ice (Bottled Water)

    • What it was: A bottled water company.
    • Failure: While not a massive failure, Trump Ice never became a major player in the market and quietly disappeared.

    12. Trump Model Management (1999-2017)

    • What it was: A modeling agency.
    • Failure: The agency shut down following controversies, including allegations of exploiting young foreign models.

    13. Trump Tower Tampa (2005-2007)

    • What it was: A planned luxury condominium development.
    • Failure: The project collapsed due to financing issues and was never built.

    14. Trump's Atlantic City Casinos (Multiple Bankruptcies)

    • Trump filed for corporate bankruptcy several times to restructure debt related to his Atlantic City casinos. These bankruptcies were high-profile financial failures, although Trump personally did not face the same legal consequences as the companies did.

You're being sarcastic right?? You recently said that Kamala Harris promised to take the guns away, and posted a video saying that she'd offer a mandatory buy back of assault weapons. Not the same thing. You also have claimed that trump had 600 businesses, however you failed to back up that claim. In the words of Logan Roy, you're not a serious person

I didn't downplay the attack. Let's look at E Jean Carroll. Guess who's responsible for her death threats.

"Carroll said her worries about her personal safety after a stream of death threats led her to buy bullets for a gun she inherited from her father, install an electronic fence, warn her neighbors of threats and unleash her pit bull to roam freely on the property of the small cabin in the mountains of upstate New York where she lives alone.

She also brought security along for the trial this week and last May and said she’d thought often about hiring security more often to accompany her."

“Why don’t you?” her attorney, Roberta Kaplan — no relation to the judge — asked.

    “Can’t afford it,” Carroll answered.

The there's the public officials that were threatened as a result of Trump's public attacks on them. But none of these matter do they? Cause Trump is responsible for this kind of ****.

"A letter containing death threats and white powder was addressed to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

In the months that followed, Trump’s many legal problems intensified — and so did the threats to the prosecutors, judges and other public officials involved in his cases. Some have been besieged by racist messages or death threats. Others have been targeted by “swatting” calls.|

Billie Eilish & FINNEAS endorse Kamala Harris for President:

“We are voting for Kamala Harris & Tim Walz because they are fighting for reproductive freedom, our planet & our democracy.”

    Another tantrum incoming??

There certainly was arrogance when they almost allowed Joe to sleep walk into a Trump presidency by rigging the primaries to prevent him from being challenged

But they seem to have recovered and Harris/Waltz does seem to be an excellent ticket that complement each other very well and push every Trump button with pinpoint accuracy

    Well now.

Funny you should mention Trump and Musk as examples of successful business men.

Both were handed businesses, and both have made substantial failures of them.

And I repeat, trump is absolutely thick. See my multiple examples above.

At least you got a thanks despite the lie.

I listed about 100 companies. Many of which have subsidiaries and sister child companies. I have given a breakdown of what companies even failed. I then summarised by suggesting to look at the number of companies and look at the success rate.

This was in reply to you lot claiming he us a failed business man and not even knowing the rates or percentages.

Yet yiu have the balls to say I am the one who is not serious.

    You ignored the list ffs.

As for the mandatory buy back of assault weapons. So if you have an assault weapon, will it be taken or not?

You see, this is the type of stuff I'm arguing with here.

You lot are just in your own bubble. I read a few things here during my ban and fan hell lads. The love in truly was vomit inducing. We get it you don't like Trump. Seems like you don't like debating either because you know nothing about what your talking.

I've heard of Billie Eilish but wtf is Finneas? 🤣

Might as well say Odyessey06 has come out in support for Harris or Redliketoast has given full backing to Trump🤣

But I suppose Trump should avoid saying he hates them in case one of the nut job harris supporters decide to take a shot

You're just posting rubbish talking points, mixed in with a bunch of lies. No normal Irish person would think Trump is a decent candidate to be President of the United States. "They're EATING the DAWGS."

Ah ok cool. I was wondering how out of touch I am with the music of the youth lol

Im not sure how to reply without sounding sarcastic. Please take it in good faith🤣

He more well know than the male rapper trump introduced as female recently. Nicky jam.

The one that’s since deleted their endorsement of trump.

    Which lies?

I keep asking this but get no reply. Wonder why.

    The lies I keep seeing

Trump said white supremacist's and teh proud boys were good decent people (or something to that effect) despite it being debunked a number of times.

Trump is racist despite not saying anything racist. In fact it was Biden who has said teh racial stuff.

Trump is saying dangerous rethoric despite the left comparing him to hitler and saying stuff that has gotten two attempts at his life.

Trump is a bad business man despite people not knowing how many companies he even has. I mean that very point makes the opinion void.

Things I get why people say:

Trump is a rapist. I get it. He has been found guilty of sexual assault. He denies it and claims someone is trying to make money from him. I am not defending him for this. Never have. I have pointed out it doesnt make him a convicted rapist. Which is what some continue to claim. Many rich people have been falsly accused of rape for money so who knows.
Trump and Vance said the illegal immigrants are eating pets. They and moreso Trump has said Immigrants (not illegal) are eating pets. There has been reports of it but apparently not in Springfield. The woman who claimed it was happening retracted her statement. But she still said it. So she lied.

I havent lied about anything. I may have said killed was murder but that is conversation. Thats not a lie.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 561 ✭✭✭Redliketoast

🤣I have to admit I didnt see that. I wouldnt have a clue who they are either.

I get the appeal from a young gossip mag type cohort. But I never understood why celebs think we should pay any attention to who they want to vote for. I mean could you imagine Eminem came out and supported whoever? I mean who would ask Eminem for advice on anything, let alone his view on how the country should be run.

More empty promises by Mr fiscally sound Donald "added 8 trillion to the deficit" Trump.

And you ignored the absolute fact that his Business adventures have left him with substantially less money than if he had simply invested his inheritance in the stock market.

He has had very few winners and a LOT of losers over the years but fundamentally his business decisions have lost him 60-70% of the value of the money his father gave him.

He is NOT a good businessman, he's a half decent fraudster, but an abject failure as an entrepreneur.

He's not poor by any measure, but anything he has was handed to him by his father

So far he hasn't quite managed to lose everything, although the next few months might finally finish him off.

Surely him suggesting that he'll cut Insurance premia in half is Government interference in the free market?

    That's Socialism isn't it?

    Thought Socialism was evil?

Re the comments by Trump about white supremacists and the proud boys, he referred to both them and local people who has turned out to protest the racist out-of-towners parading through their town with his quote "there were good people on both sides" in a failed attempt to equate the out-of-town white supremacists and proud boys with the town-folk.

    His inheritence was about 400M

Forbes has him worth 7.5 Billion (assets plus cash)

If you think investing in the stock market would def give better results then we need to have a chat away from here. I want you to be my new best friend😂

Pretty much all you have posted is a mix of rubbish and lies that you've either read somewhere or just made up in your head. Like the above. Like, people can read what you've posted.

In the exact same speech he said

“I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.”

But that doesnt fit with the agenda. Luckily the internet is a thing

This is later in the exact same speech. You wont see this on CNN though
