Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

"Firstly who cares what he did with a porn star?"

    That wasn't the question.

The question went to his credibility, as he denied doing it.

Any chance you could address the point being made, or is Gish gallop your "go to" reaction everytime?

I wasnt fact checking. I was suggesting thats where the fact check should have taken place.

The fact that you dont even believe does fact checks says it all tbh

so who exactly were these non neonazis and non white suprematist fine people who were in a march chanting “Jews will not replace us”?

Again he may as well have been saying there are fine people at a Klan rally, just not the racists.

so no “fact check” Trump hasn’t said anything to trigger assassination attempts. Interesting.

So just to clarify, you declared the unaffiliated guy as a Democrat but the green party member who also viewed the election to have been robbed(guess who said that) is not a Trump fan or motivated by his rhetoric?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85,020 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

Ryan Routh repeated the Biden/Harris claims about Trump and then went on to try to kill him. You dont think that the rhetoric has led to the attempt on him

Paul Pelosi’s attacker repeated claims made by Trump and went on to try and kill him and Nancy, your response: 🤷🏻‍♂️

In fairness, @Redliketoast doesn't seem to view the guy who described a bullet in Alvin Bragg's head to be a danger... He seems to very creative in terms of what is and isn't dangerous.

When you 'fact check' you cite a source, that (for the 3rd time in 24 hours) is how it works

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,321 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

Oh if we're just making things up then…

But in reality, those bomb threats were real and they were actually caused by Trump's racist lie.

The fact you have to invent a conspiracy to avoid this issue just highlights your offence is purely for show.

Honestly, who do you think is falling for that?

No that wasn't a threat you see. Trump supporters were just setting up a frame to display a banner. They just needed a good strong base for it.

And the noose was just to hoist the banner up you see. Turns out that a lot of Trump supporters only know how to tie nooses for some reason…

I'll respond to you just this once. The only people in the out-of-town group were neo-Nazis and Proud Boys. Take from that, when looking at Trumps comment about there "being good people on both sides", what you want.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,106 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

Just today the was conspiracy theory drivel about an ABC whistle blower, you refuse to provide any credible evidence to support your wild claims which are obviously another MAGA hoax you have fallen for - obvious fake news which shouldn't be fooling anyone. Trump lost the debate to Harris, she played him like a violin, Trump supporters can't accept their cult leader lost the debate to Harris, so out come the conspiracy theories.

As for the transcripts, they prove nothing except that you have fallen for Trump talking about out both sides of his mouth. Your claims have no credibility as you have demonstrated in your posts your complete inability to subject Trump's remarks and conduct to basic scrutiny.

The very fine people comment clearly applied to neo nazis and white supremacists because the fact checks show that it who was at the rally. Trump lied about who was at the rally so he could dog whistle to them that they were very fine people. He was clearly signalling to them they could think of themselves as very fine people even after they shouted anti semitic slogans.

Let's remember that Trump no stranger to racist vomit himself, with multiple documented examples from him, his campaign, his stooge VP and wingbuts like Loomer.

Your entire line of argument has been totally discredited multiple times already and it doesn't get any more convincing given the numerous wild and false claims you have already posted to the thread.

If Routh thought that about Trump, the only person Trump can blame is himself.
So it was Trump's actions (January 6th etc) and inactions (on gun control) that led to the attempt on him.

Anybody paying attention can see Trump is a threat to US democracy and the constitution. He already tried to steal one election.

No rhetoric required from Biden and Harris, and to criticise them for their justified criticism about Trump would be to give Trump a free pass for his conduct. That would be a morally and politically bankrupt outcome.

What will the next call be? The media shouldn't have reported on Trump's attempts to subvert the election and the January 6th riots, even though they reported factually, because it might give someone a bad opinion of Trump!

If Trump's doesn't want to be called a threat to democracy he shouldn't have tried to steal an election. Blaming the Democrats for calling attention to Trump's reprehensible conduct is absurd, without merit and without foundation and just gives a free pass for such conduct.

Prove it! that i could well be some TDS lunatic on the left ringing them in so they could blame it on Trump. Let's be honest there are plenty of deranged headbanger's who hate Trump

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 554 ✭✭✭Redliketoast

I have provided both video and transcript of him calling out neo mazis and white supremacists in that group. He claimed that there was also normal people demonstrating at the event. He said they were the fine people.

I have stated this multiple times and this has been debunked multiple times. At this point ignoring the facts is either incompetence or ignorance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,106 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

There were no such normal people just racist scum. So yes at this point you are ignoring the facts.

Trump a racist scumbag himself was telling the racist scumbags they were fine people.

Or, mad thought, there's a bunch of racists out there who'd believe obvious racist lies from their racist lying king.

You're welcome to prove your conspiracy theory that these bomb threats are the result of a false flag from whatever "TDS lunatics" are.

But we all know that's not something you or other Trump supporters will do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,932 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

Exactly. I'm done with that poster.

They clearly take Trumps words as fact, despite the overwhelming counter evidence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,321 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

I think that these types know full well that they're lying and rewriting reality. They just assume that's what everyone else is doing.

The alternative is to consider that they might be wrong. Which is not permitted.

Seeing that the heated air in the presidential race has resulted in one unsuccessful assassination attempt resulting in two fatalities and one wounding of a candidate, and one apparent unsuccessful preparation for an assassination attempt on the previously wounded candidate, perhaps you might consider who could be accused of being responsible for an attempt on, or murder by way of assassination, of the other candidate, with Trump sounding off about candidate assassinations instead of him turning the temperature down to unwind a certain class of unsettled people.

Trump has complained about the democrats being responsible for the unsuccessful attempt because they have used "target" expressions in their campaign Ads against him. Over to you, with you keeping in mind I will not respond except for a read of your response.

I had logging in this morning and saw 100+ posts thinking; "Oooo, what important thing happened?"

And then I opened the thread and I was like "Oh…..god damn it….*this* again"

Alas, this is pretty much a microcosm of what regular everyday Americans have had to put up with for years and alas also likely for a good few years to come. Any attempt to discuss actual constuctive politics will be railroaded by contrarians who insist that fiction is reality and their horrendious life-choices are somehow the path to an enriching & healthy life. This is what MAGA does to America, and this is also what MAGA does to our own attempts here to discuss American politics.

Just like our American cousins, I feel that we must also continue to champion the value of truth against those who would rather serve the facist whims of a select group of people and spread falsehoods while they gleefully do it.

And those fine people in the images in Overheals post are Trumps audience for...

Racist Nazi esque drivel about immigrants poisoning the blood of the nation.

Racist drivel about immigrants stealing and eating pets.

And objectively this is racist drivel when Trump campaign shares images of these immigrants... always people of color.

Objectively they are lies admitted on TV by Trumps cowardly corporate fascist stooge JD Vance.

A racist lying fascist scumbag reaching out to his base.

So whats the MAGA talking point today, is it that Trump ACED the debate or is it that the debate was rigged against Trump.

Last time I looked Trump claimed to have won biggly, and of course we are supposed to take everything he says as gospel.

    Its hard to keep up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,321 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

But it's fine for Trump to rile up these people and use inflammatory language that targets specific people. Cause nazis never do violence.

And all of the instances of violence are all just false flags anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭Economics101

"There has been no assassination attempty because of what Trump has said" Yes, true as far as we know. But this is despite the inflammatory language coming from Trump and others (Communist Kamala, Fascist Kamala, etc).

Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and Joe Biden have all been forthright in their disdain for Trump an all he stands for. But have they said anything which is remotely as provocative as the language used by Trump?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,106 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

Very unfair of you to bring up MAGA memory holing the debate like that. You must suffer the same amnesia that seems to have inflicted them in the interests of fairness and balance.

Its almost as if... when you lie as often as Trump does you will inevitably trip over your own lies.

    Almost.

Trump is "surprised" that Harris was able to answer the questions so easily. It seems he never heard of preparation for an exam.

Marge has walked back claiming that the channel rigged the debate by giving Harris the questions in advance after the man who "leaked" the fix memo died in a car crash.

And all of it is Gish gallop with the primary purpose to whine and complain about Trump’s debate performance.

fact check: even if Trump was on stage against 10 moderators and a round table of fact checkers and Kamala Harris had been there with a comically large pair of headphones on feeding her the answers, he still would’ve done the most damage to himself in that debate, and that’s exactly what happens near the end of the debate when given a softball question about his plan to repeal and replace the affordable care act, He answered to say he has quote “concepts of a plan” - which is to say after nine years of allegedly campaigning on replacing the affordable care act it still hasn’t been important enough to him to even flesh out what that would look like.

Nine years hell he has spent a solid two or three years of that just golfing if you do the math.

And he rushed out the tax cut act when he got into the office. He was quick to nod his head when someone proposed operation warp speed to him, yet for the seminal piece of his agenda that he sought to accomplish when he came down the escalator in 2015, he is still in pre-phase A!

At least when Obama campaigned on the affordable care act in 2007 and 2008, he knew exactly what it should look like and he was happy to explain it in detail to anyone who would listen. And then he signed it within his first 14 months in office (albeit butchered in part by republicans). Three years from campaigning on it to getting it done Trump has had three times that amount of time and he is still in the concepts plural phase.

For millions of cultists watching, who have been on board with him every step of the way and fully behind the belief that he would repeal and replace Obamacare, you’ve really gotta admit that had to be a gut punch to their fragile sense of reality.
