Thought maybe we should have a fight thread for this pretty big fight. Maybe take your pick as well. I’ll shoot with an AJ win inside 4. Keep the chat here

Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois — IBF heavyweight title fight

Tyler Denny vs. Hamza Sheeraz — EBU European middleweight title fight

Anthony Cacace vs. Josh Warrington — IBF and IBO super featherweight title fight

Ishmael Davis vs. Josh Kelly — 12-round middleweight fight

Joshua Buatsi vs. Willy Hutchinson — WBO interim light heavyweight title fight

Mark Chamberlain vs. Josh Padley — 10-round lightweight fight

Looking forward to it for sure. Strong card top to bottom.

Expecting the main event to be very competitive and not ruling out the upset at all tbh. Dubois is no mug and quite comfortably the biggest puncher Joshua has faced. Reckon it'll be quite tentative with both behind their jabs. Neither has the ability to move their head so feels like a matter of time until something big lands. Think gun to my head I'd just side with Joshua but I do think it's close and competitive.

I think Cacace likely punches holes through Warrington and forces a stoppage. Will be interesting to see how Warrington looks jumping up in weight but facing a solid puncher in Cacace is a big ask. Warrington has a lot of miles on the clock at this stage.

Buatsi-Hutchinson should be another very competitive one. Think I'd just fancy Buatsi to shave a close one that likely goes the distance.

Not a big Josh Kelly fan but is a big ask for Davis on short notice. Kelly win competitive but clear on the cards imo. Chamberlain and Sheeraz should both win by KO.

Cacace v Warrington on now. Very early this one

I have just switched it on I expected this one to be about two hours time! They’re eating up the card! Must be a spooky atmosphere doing a ringwalk in the bright with nothing but red empty seats. Guys during covid fought in better atmospheres!

Man I miss Ian Darke on the big fight commentary

Very exciting fight so far. Caccache bound to catch him enough in the latter rounds for the ko for me

Why is this on so early? Pity the place is half empty for a fight like this.

What time is AJ? Around 10pm?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,917 ✭✭✭Morrison J

They are saying 9.45pm but yeah I'd be surprised if it wasn't a bit after 10

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,972 ✭✭✭squinn2912

    Here comes a split

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,778 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Clear cards scores there. Cacace landing heavier and cleaner throughout

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,917 ✭✭✭Morrison J

Warrington did well to make that a scrappy affair but never really landed much of substance. Cacace def correct winner.

There's going to be a massive wait in-between fights with the way they're getting through the card.

Another good name on Cacace's record, a d with the with it should means he'll continue to earn far more money than he has for the majority of his career.

I think Joshua will be far too fast for Dubois, and he'll find him with that jab too easily and get the stoppage. Dubois has the power to take Joshua out, but he has to be able to find him for that to happen.

Warrington announced his retirement after apparently. Prob the right decision to be fair taken a lot of punishment of late. Great career though.

I thought those cards were very wide but to be fair both fighters knew it was conclusive. Warrington gave it a good go, up a weight and he didn’t take anything heavy. Decent payday and appearance and retirement is the best. I think he still gives any of the top 10 in FW or SFW a good fight though so it’s hard to know. Title looks unlikely for him.

Not really watching g this. Buatsi winning?

Can’t believe that a judge somehow managed to give that to Buatsi’s opponent. Judging in boxing is absolutely bizarre at times.

    Absolute mismatch here

Sheeraz is a monster. I think he'll prove to be world class.

Ref done him a favor ending it when he did, total mismatch.

Joshua should retire. An absolute beating

  • Registered Users Posts: 711 ✭✭✭rodders999

shocking refereeing to let that continue- Joshua could have been seriously injured there, he was out of it for at least 2 rounds.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,230 ✭✭✭waynescales1

Fury realising he doesn't want it with Dubois
