WTD. Mechanical / rim brake groupset

Im looking for a mechanical, rim brake groupset for a build I'm doing of an older frame. I'm either blind or it seems it's nigh on impossible to find anything online on the usual retailer sites. I found a 105 r7000 group on bike-discount.de but it's out of stock. Other thank that I've come up with very little.

I've got calipers but I'm looking for pretty much everything else. Shifters, cranks, front and rear mechs, cassette, chain etc. I'd prefer to get everything in one go if possible. Anything Shimano, either 105 or ultegra.

Hopefully someone's got something out there or can point me towards where I could source one.

I have a full Ultegra R8000 rim brake groupset, put up a list of what you want and I'll get photos and a price tomorrow.

Sounds great. I need the following:

    Crank

    Front and rear mech

    Cassette and chain

    Shifters

Um @cramcycle…I'm looking for front and rear brake calipers compatible with 105 R7000 shifters. Pretty sure r8000s will work and it appears friso59 doesn't need them for their build. Would you be up for selling your calipers separately? And, if so, how much would you like for them?

I also have an R8000 groupset for sale at the minute. If for any reason CramCycle’s falls through; feel free to get in touch

Thanks. What kind of condition is it in? Mileage? Crank length? Any photos?

Photo sent via pm. Tried to link external advert here but couldn’t

Thanks for sending those pictures. Seems the crank isn't the size I need (172.5) and there's no cassette or chain. I'd prefer to get as much as I need in one go so I'll see if something more appropriate comes up here.

Sorry, forgot to do this yesterday and won't be back home until tomorrow, what I have:

    • Front Derailleur
    • Rear Derailleur (I actually have two, one brand new, never used)
    • Cassette (possibly two as well)
    • Shifters
    • Front and rear brakes (I may also have a set of 105 brakes as well)
    • Chainrings, 105 and Ultegra

I'll put pictures up tomorrow evening all going to plan. Crankset I am unsure of, definitely have one but I returned the one on the bike to Shimano for inspection, so not sure which one is in the house, will confirm tomorrow

Thanks for that info. It sounds like you've got everything I need. If you could confirm in the crank and price for everything except calipers that'd be great.

Don't suppose one of those RDs might be a GS/long cage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,021 ✭✭✭rflynnr

So: I'd be interested in either the Ultegra or 105 brakes (front and rear( if you'd like to suggest a price?

Here are pictures of what I found so far, just gonna price them individually and add more as I find them. I say this as the house is a mess and I had some things in my hand last week and now can't find them but I will eventually rediscover them such as one of the shifters and the new ultegra derailleur.

Dura ace 11 speed cassette, used but not much, 9100, asking €100

    Ultegra R8000 front derailleur €20

Ultegra Rear derailleur, functional but scratched to sh1t after a crash €10

Ultegra Brakeset €50 for the set

    Shimano 105 rear brake €10

Various Chainrings, large ones for €25, inner ones for €10

Thanks a mill for sharing all that. I think I've managed to find everything but I'm just waiting to confirm. If it doesn't work out I might come back to you though. Appreciate you taking the time to look for those and upload the pictures.

Offer €20 for the 105 brake calipers (subject to the other one turning up!).

Thanks @CramCycle for looking for those parts and putting up the pictures. I've managed to source an almost unused full ultegra groupset but appreciate you taking the time to respond.

The only thing I'm missing is the bracket axle connecting the rear derailleur to the frame. It's the piece in the picture attached. My derailleur was obviously used on a direct mount frame so it didn't have one. I don't suppose you've got one lying around? It's for an ultegra rd-r8000.

@CramCycle - would you take €65 for the ultegra brakes, front derailleur and rear derailleur? I'd be interested in the new derailleur and shifters if they turn up too. Plus postage.

@CramCycle id offer asking for the ultegra brake set.

Missed this, if WW doesn't take them then I'd take that offer if you cover postage.

No bother will do. If he takes the brakes, I'd still be interested in the rest once you find them.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 25,531 Mod ✭✭✭✭CramCycle

Found the new one, pic below, so it is 20 for the old one but 40 for the new one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85 ✭✭1971bsb

@CramCycle you said €10 for the scuffed rd, but €40 seems reasonable for the new rd. I'll take the front derailleur as well. What condition are the sti levers in? Can you post some pics or drop me a pm with pics?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 25,531 Mod ✭✭✭✭CramCycle

I'll stick up photos tomorrow of the shifters, remembered where I put them this morning. Consider the derailleurs held for you. Shifters work perfectly, hood covers are clearly not new though. I'll stick up pics and a price, give you first refusal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85 ✭✭1971bsb

    Perfect stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85 ✭✭1971bsb

@CramCycle - did you get a chance to take those pics of the shifters?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 25,531 Mod ✭✭✭✭CramCycle

Alas no, where I thought the other one was, is not true, must keep looking, sorry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85 ✭✭1971bsb

No prob, I'll hold on - hope you locate it.

@CramCycle - any success locating the sti levers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85 ✭✭1971bsb

@CramCycle - last call, any sign of those levers?
