Good to see more clubs fielding at 20s

Coolmine Malahide and Suttonians fielding a combined side as well

Munster have essentially a second division in the south of the province with a second ucc side and combination sides from clubs across county Cork and a Waterford side

If our front 5 isn't absolutely mullering Wales, Scotland and Italy and getting at least on par with France and England we need to be asking serious questions of the coaching setup!

Corrigan eligible again as well so a lot of returning front 5

Is he eligible to play for Ireland yet? He's only been here a handful of years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,432 ✭✭✭FrannoFan

He should be. Think irfu have to apply for a sort of exemption as he was living here without his parents or something. So the 5 year count wouldn't ordinarily have started. He might only have been here 4 years so might miss out

I believe to play for the ireland u20's he will need to apply for an exception to world rugby for a period during covid when he was not resident in Ireland. It would be harsh if they didn't grant him

Around Gabriel there has been some questions about how much time he actually spent in Ireland and there has been some differing accounts.

I think there was a period he spent back home during a covid lockdown and there are questions around whether or not that resets the 5 year timer.

Being honest I think not granting an extenuating circumstance like that would be unduly harsh if it is indeed the case.

We will see this season I guess

WR aren't known for their leniency in that area.

20's isn't a capture game so you'd like to think they would grant the exemption
